In one of my league we just finished drafting this morning and tonight I draft in my family FFL.

Plan ahead for the Draft.


If you are late or can not make it be make sure you set up your draft choices in your order. The computer order may list several kickers in a row and you may end up with 5 kickers on your team with 4 defenses.

Maybe 90 to 120 seconds for the first few rounds and then cut it back to 60 or less.

I think it gets harder as it goes on. You have to research the so so players.

My 10 team league gets 30 seconds. Don't get your pick in and the computer selects next best available for you. You really gotta know your stuff come draft time.

I do agree with Frank that the earlier rounds are easier to make a selection.

One league I drafted in yesterday with 10 teams. The time in the parenthesizes is the total time that owner used for a a 16 round draft.

The time limit has been set at 180 seconds from last year and will remain the same unless we get 6 owners that want to change the amount of time.

I think the main problem in drafting for FF drafts is not the time between picks, but setting the automatic pick set as on. This causes the draft to stop because the computer makes the pick that the owner didn't want. We had to back up and start over several times in my other draft on Sunday. The commish then has to remove picks and this all takes time.

So if you are online and want to make the picks, set the automatic pick on off. Only use the automatic if you are off line.

What is the Draft Robot and how does it work?


The draft robot will assist owners who are either not present for the draft or have not made a selection within the allotted amount of time.

Once you have enabled the draft robot, you will be able to set a time limit for each pick. Once the time limit expires, the owner will be set on Autopilot, and the draft robot will select the highest available player from the owner's rankings list.

Please note that once autopilot has been enabled, an owner must manually turn autopilot off in order to start making their own selections again.

Please do not have your Draft Robot on Autopilot if you are online and are making your own picks.

But if you go offline please set the Draft Robot on Autopilot.

The reason is this. If you go offline without setting the Draft Robot on Autopilot, your pick will take the full time of 3 minutes. If you set the Draft Robot on Autopilot , the pick will take less than one second.

This also means if the Draft Robot is on Autopilot, and you are online and want to make your own pick, the Draft Robot will make your pick before you have a chance to do so.
