  • Percy Harvin Signs with the Jets

I love that they got him and with Decker, LOOK out. So now they have 2 great WR and 2 great RB, All I can say is, Wow

BTW I spoke to Heath at 9 am this morning before his Flight to St Louis. Heath was calling to see how Sal was doing and if he liked what he sent him. There was no mention of this trade. Not sure if he knew and could not say anything or if it happened afterwards. He tried calling again about 4:30 pm but something happened with the phone so we got cut off so I did not speak to him. I thought he was trying to call Sal to see how he is feeling at that time. The News broke at 5:30 So he might have been calling to see how Sal was feeling and to cheer him up to tell him that Harvin is on the Jets.

My son spoke to Heath last night and he said Harvin was cut cause he had issues. He said that he hopes Harvin will get better mentally with the Jets. My son made Heath laugh by saying are you kidding this is NY, Better no worse yes. I was not going too post about what Heath said but since I saw this just posted on CBS sports I figured it was ok to do so.

In the SH games I've seen this season, it appeared they were trying to get him ore involved, more touches.

Wrong question. The more significant is who will Harvin let throw him the ball. Apparently Minnesota dumped him because, among other issues, he was backstabbing Christian Ponder. With the Seahawks he did the same with Russell Wilson, apparently the two of them almost got into a fist fight. He actually did get into fist fights with Golden Tate last year and Doug Baldwin this year; I guess because he thought they were getting balls that should have come to him.

If he hadn't already reached the end of his rope, he attained that in Seattle's last drive against Dallas, when he said he wasn't available to play.

We'll see how long the Jets keep him around. My guess is that there won't be any more takers for him once the Jets give up, and if he wants to continue to play football he will be on one-year contracts with a short leash.

Geno Smith, From what I have read Harvins Value has gone up going to the Jets.Geno Smith throws more than Wilson did. Plus Having Decker there are now 2 top WR's. Who do you Cover? Then add in the 2 top RB's which now may have to have the Defense open up. Harvin should be doing better but he better get alone with the players, He fought with Ponder, Gave Tate a black eye just before the SB, recently had blow outs with Baldwin and almost had a fist fight with wilson.

I don't think the Hawks expected to get anything of value for Harvin, particularly given his contract. The local scuttlebutt is that if they hadn't been able to deal him to the Jets on Friday, they were going to release him before the game today. They had made the decision that he wasn't ever going to on the roster today.

Post-game today, many observers noted the difference in attitude in the clubhouse interviews after the loss today vs. the loss last week against Dallas. I heard one team observer say that while Harvin had some supporters on defense, most of the players on the offense had had it with him.

Frank - the question is how Geno Smith will react when Harvin threatens to crack his skull open because Smith isn't throwing the ball to him often enough or doesn't put enough zip on his throws or doesn't have enough touch on his throws or doesn't look off the defense enough or whatever else Harvin comes into Harvin's mind. I hope it works out for the Jets. But if Harvin couldn't mesh with Pete Carroll, I think thechances are slim that he's going to mesh with any team.
