Anyone interested in getting into a fantasy football league? If there is enough interest (10 people) I could check into it. I belong to one through CBS Sports Online.
If we get enough people, male and female, would we want a just for fun league or a league that has a payout at the end of the season for 1st, 2nd & 3rd places.
I was thinking maybe just the label Gold Crown, Five Star and Silver Crown designating the 1st, 2nd, 3rd place finishers as a sobriquet next to our Forum names.
Just so you all know, I have plans to eventually set up some pool, league, and similar stuff for the points system here on the site. There are no existing scripts to do that at this point so it may be a while before this is running...
If you are interested in joining a fantasy football league but you are not sure what it is all about here is a good place to start Fantasy Football 101.
It looks like we are getting close to having enough people interested to start a league.
Here are couple of thoughts.
ESPN, Yahoo, or CBS would be good places to create a league. They all have different levels for creating a league
ranging from free to $130.00 - $160.00 per league.
How does this look for scoring?
Scoring for Offensive Categories
FG - Field Goals 3 points
Plus 1 point for a FG of 40 to 49 Yds
Plus 2 points for a FG of 50+ Yds
Kick Return TD 6 points
Punt Return TD 6 points
Passing Two-point Conversion 2 points
Passing TD 6 points
Passing Yards 0+ PaYds = .1 points for every 3 PaYds
Receiving Two-point Conversion 2 points
Receiving TD 6 points
Receiving Yards 0+ ReYds = .1 points for every 1 ReYd
Rushing Two-point Conversion 2 points
Rushing TD 6 points
Rushing Yards 0+ RuYds = .1 points for every 1 RuYd
I would say go with only 2 WR's. And maybe have a flex position, where you can start either a RB, WR, or TE as that extra Offensive position.
Yahoo's leagues are set up this way.
I agree with the flex instead of the third receiver but other than that I think it looks good. If you want to go totally with the original, Hey, you're the commissioner, right?
