Somehow the Bears will come through this year for me after so many years of getting into the playoffs but no further. I know we aren't the best, but luck has a lot to do with football and we have had luck with us for most of the year. Hard to believe a California boy would be a Bears fan isn't it? My parents are from Chicago and I grew up on them as my father was a huge fan. Last game I ever went to with him was in the old Keisar (spelling) stadium in San Francisco in the pouring rain when Sayers ran wild against the fourty whiners. I was a kid then and it was so windy and rainy that I started drinking coffee that day and have never stopped. Now I'm the old one hoping the Bears have two more victories in them.

We have to watch this again...Colts and Pats????????
Manning and the Colts will stop themselves...they know how to choke just like the Chargers. The Pats are definitely beatable but the Colts are best at beating themselves in big games.
Go Saints is all I have to say. I don't really like the Bears either but they played a good game against the SeaChicks who backed into the playoffs.

John,
Any team can beat a team ONCE. UCLA beat USC this year. The Saints also have a track record of choking. I'd love to see the Saints win it all.
True, True. But giving Tom Brady and the Pats extra chances with turnovers is not going to work (Obviously). They are too dangerous as we have seen. And Manning knows how to give those chances away. I hope Indy can pull it off.
The Saints have never been this far....so hopefully they wont remember how to choke.

Naturally, I am rooting for the Pats, but after the narrow & hard-fought win over the Chargers, I am nervous. That game was like watching inch-worms progress. More like a test of wills. We did not play that well (where were Brady's defenders?) and had two bad calls (IMHO) against us. Fortunately, the Chargers' field goal was short.
We're not the team we used to be with the loss of key players.
Here's hoping........
B.
Would like to see two former Bucs coaches face off against each other in the big game: Lovie vs. Dungy. The master should be victorious over the student, and Tony Dungy is a class act who's way overdue for a Super Bowl win, so the Colts are my choice.
Yeah the charger pats game did seem to go like slow motion. I am not a fan of either team but it was captivating. Brady didn't flinch. He just kept at it...just like he has done it before. Loss of key players but they still have the mind set it is not over until its over. A pretty amazing run for the Pats especially in this day and age of the NFL.
The Pats never should have had their first SB in this run....remember the snow job against the Raiders...so no crying about bad calls.

I guess in the end, those bad calls even out.
Here's hoping that most of them go the Colts way this weekend !
I'm am so tired of hearing about Peyton Manning this, Peyton Manning that...
Enough already ! (But I did laugh at the HD commercial, the one about not having enough pixels).
BTW, Tomlinson is an assh*le. I'm so glad that the sportscaster invalidated his remarks. At first it was thought that he was making these re: Merrimen. Idiot.
B.
I laughed about Tomlison being insulted about the Merriman lights out mocking by the Pats. I loved it. Did Merriman or the Charger trademark that stupid move? How many times did Merriman do it, gloating over another player? As Tony Kornheiser said, someone should send Merriman a bag of microwave popcorn so he'll have something to eat when he's watching the rest of the playoffs. (Merriman sent a bag to the Dolphins DE Taylor with a note like that).
This year Mario Williams of the Texans did a Michael Strahorn jump shot when he sacked Eli Manning this year during the Texans-Giants game. You would have thought the Gaints and their fans were going to die or something. Some teams think that their stuff doesn't stink.
If a player can throw in another player's face, he better be able to accept it when it gets thrown back in their face.
Remember your mother told you if you can't take being teased, then you better not tease someone else.
MShatty,
That's the name, Tony Kornheiser, I think ! He's the one with the distinctive shirts, the collars, in particular. He really nailed him.
Belichik is one of the most mild mannered football personalities around. I particpate in a charitable event every summer (The Mayor's Cup Regatta on the Charles) and coach is there, but he is very low-key and hard to recognize as he wears his cap and sunglasses. In fact, the Pats are so low-key that you never heard one word about that cheap, late shot that Brady took in the Miami game.
Tomlinson is just a whining little jerk.

Peyton Manning died. When he got to heaven God showed him around a bit.
They finally reached a small one story house with a faded Colts flag in
the window. God said to Peyton "You're lucky. Not everyone gets a house
up here." Peyton looked nextdoor and saw a mansion with a blue and
silver sidewalk, a Patriots flag and Pats logos. "I`m not trying to be
ungrateful." Said Peyton "But why does Tom Brady get a bigger house than
me?" God laughed. "Thats not Tom`s house. Thats my house."
