GREAT WIN FOR THE CARDINALS
First World Series win since 1982, it has been a long 24 years, and First World Series in their New Stadium!:
-
I'm glad the Cards won it. I had been pulling for Detroit until Kenny Rogers cheated. The Cards were actually my first pick before the season started for the over/under totals. I picked them to have over 93 wins but due to a ton of injuries during the season they ended up with only 84."A man that doesn't spend time with his family, can never be a real man" The Godfather

Obviously you were excited about the series, but I haven't been in about 20 years.
I think they need to settle the pay equity issues and get the series settled by the first week in October (Reggie Jackson wouldn't be Mr. October if the whole shebang ended in September) at the latest.
I used to rush home to watch games but without the threads here, I would've almost forgot about it.
Sad, for what was once America's number one sport. It probably ranks below football and basketball and just above hockey. Go Sabres!!!

Well, how about that (the cards winning that is)?
Even as Kansas City people, who were part of the '85 series, can't help but be happy.

How sweet it is.....Red October!....too bad not Angel Red but red none the less.
Yeah Cards and former beloved Angels.....including the WS MVP David Ekstein one of the Angels fan favorites......way to go X.
Our local paper had a picture of David Eckstein and Scott Spiezio on the front page after the WS final victory....sweet for Cardinal and Angel fans....we love these guys and always will.

Was there doubt on your part that they would not win?
Hubby and I were born in STL, and still go "home" to visit family and friends annually. They never doubted this was THE year to win.
My regret: hubby and i were on vacation during the last three weeks, and he was PLANTED in front of the tv watching the blankety, blankety series.hope this info helps,

Oh yeah I had my doubts.....and so did several of our family members who are native southern Illini (as is my dad).....come'on.....83 wins and they almost lost the division and the playoff opportunity.
I was rooting for the Cards in the NL....no doubt about that.
Congrats....sorry you missed it.

Just had to throw another picture of our former beloved Angels that was in our paper today......
I missed Eck on Leno....is there a place to see a replay on-line?
DRIVING HIM CRAZY: David Eckstein, right, acknowledged to Jay Leno on Monday that he might have trouble handling his new Corvette, since ‘I can’t drive a stick (shift).’"If a Nation expects to be ignorant and free in a state of civilization, it expects what never was and never will be....
