Does the BCS work for you?
It doesn't for me. I think that they should institute a weekend just after the conference title games where the top 4 teams in the BCS meet. The usual 1 plays 4, 2 plays 3 format.
Another option would be to play the top 4 teams as above and the next 4 teams in the same format.
After that weekend, the BCS rankings are back out and the top teams compete in the 4 BCS bowl games. Then rankings again and a week later the #1 and #2 team from the BCS play again for the title.
By adding a max of 2 more games, you get a good mix of the best teams in the nation playing each other more than once.
I know it has flaws, but it's what I can think of right now.
What alternatives have you thought of?
