NY Giants
I like the first round pick of the Longhorn CB Aaron Ross and was quite surprised he lasted to number 20.
I am quite puzzled over their second pick USC's WR Steve Smith. A team can always use another offensive target but I would've been happier if this pick was spent on an offensive lineman like Indie's pick of Tony Ugoh < but then they picked him 9 slots before the Giants got to go again>. but gosh darn it Samson Satele was still available.
Eli Manning needs a lot more time from the line to find his man and make an accurate throw. If the Giants don't do something about that tomorrow it will be another long year of watching heart stopping QB bad moves for me.Lawren

Lawren,
Did the Gaints keep all of their receivers from last year? I had a couple of them in our fantasy league but they had injury issues and Eli had protection issues.
The Texans got the 19 year old defensive tackle from Louisville at no. 10. They were tickled to get him. For their only other pick they chose a J Jacoby, WR from Lane College, whereever that is.
Day 2 is really where these guys have to earn their money. We won't know who any of the selections are but they will tell us how great the choices are.

I need to take a look at who is still available. Giants have pick number 82 next. Still paying and paying and paying for Peyton's little brother.Lawren

Then there is the KC Chiefs with who in the last two years have lost two of the finest offensive linemen in NFL history - 24 Pro Bowls. They drafted a wide receiver. They also were in need of a defensive tackle but in the second round drafted a cornerback - perhaps to tackle the runner after he runs through the line.
Two days before the draft they traded Dante Hall to St. Louis. He wasn't "sensational" any more - it couldn't be because Dante had blockers under Coach Vermeil tutelage. Dah!

So the Giants waste thier 3rd pick on an undersized DT who will have to be placed outside. that I just don't get....
opkansas you are dead in the water until Vermeil leaves. So are the Redskins with Gibbs.
Has anyone been watching the Patriots in this draft? They are making out like bandits and just got Moss from Oakland in a trade.....Lawren

Well, I think the Texans had a pretty good draft overall. We just can't get over last's years draft. Everyone wanted to dump David Carr then, draft Vince Young. When that wasn't going to happen, okay, Reggie Bush will be a good substitute. That didn't happen.
A Houston Chronicle columnist wrote today that if they had drafted Reggie Bush, we could have Brady Quinn and a stud WR in the second round. Who knows, he may have been right. However, I think Quinn will turn out to be another David Carr based on what few games I saw him in; just saying he's no sure thing.
What about those Miami Dolphins picking Ted Ginn Jr. who's still hurt! I saw a video clip of the fans booing the coach and chanting Brady Brady Brady!
What do you think of your team's draft choices?

As a Patriot fan I thought our draft stunk. The reality is most of those guys will be fighting for a practice squad position at best.
Randy Moss is being received with mixed reviews, the character issue which has defined recent Patriiot teams seems missing in Moss. The other viewpoint major talent, cheap price giving a 4th rounder, signed a one year contract and if he does't toe the party line he will be gone swiftly. I just chant the mantra " In Bill we trust" and hope for the best.
Free agency on the other hand was very good for the Pats, in someways the draft was unnecessary.Mark B.

Also a Raider fan for life...and I am fairly happy with our draft. We should have drafted Matt Leinert last year first round 10th pick then we could have traded down for some offensive linemen assuming we still would have been as bad last season with Matt. A QB is no good if you can't protect him.
I am more than happy the largest cancerous tumor on our team has been sent packing to the pats....good luck...we hope to see an implosion and your team covered with moss...have fun."If a Nation expects to be ignorant and free in a state of civilization, it expects what never was and never will be.... If we are to guard against ignorance and remain free, it is the responsibility of every American to be informed."
