  • Sammy Sosa's 600th

Last week my wife, son and I were able to witness an historic event. We were at the Texas Rangers - Chicago Cubs game last Wednesday at Arlington Texas. That was the night when Sosa hit his 600th home run to enter a select group of only 5 players. I was able to take a picture of when he swung and also crossed the plate. They are excellent pictures as we had great seats and my camera has a 12X optical zoom.

Unfortunately Sosa's record is tainted because of the steroids and corked bat issues.

      Nice. Great experience.

Just for fun I have been looking for one of those large promotional balloons shaped like a cork for when Texas comes into town. I have not been able to find one. I would like to launch it from the top of the stadium with 'corky's' name on it.

But I give him some props along with McGuire and Barry....they do help make the game exciting scandal and all.

      Please post your pictures.

In a similar situation, but not as historic, I saw Bonds hit a homer on Father's Day at Fenway. For me, a llifelong, die-hard baseball fan, it was a non-event. No, nada, 'nuttin.
Asterik time is all that I felt and that's a shame.

Yes, we have our tickets. They are the ones that you print out on your printer so they are actually 8.5 X 11 sheets of paper.

They also gave out documents after the game commemorating the event.

I will post the pictures when I have them ready.
