              Boston Revealed

Rita and I are in Boston, attending the National Conference of Staate Legislators. We will be guests at Fenway tomorrow night. Have no idea who they are playing, but do wish to see the historic Fenway stadium.

Fenway is so named because it was built on the "Fens", a swampy area filled in over the years in the 1700s and 1800s.

Over 75% of Boston is built on form water-covered ares, filled in and built upon.

If we had had the EPA in the 1700s and 1800s, there apparently would be no Boston, as it is build on wetlands.

Actually, if we had had the EPA the settlers would still be squatting on Plymouth Rock, as it would be much too dangerous to trek westward (must protect life you know).

                Mel,

The Red Sox will be in Anaheim for the next three games starting tomorrow. Maybe there will be a related event for your conference there. Enjoy the tour.

                  What do I Know?

Looking over the program, it doesn't actually say there is a game. Tours begin at 5:30 and "program' begins at 7 PM. I just assumed it was a ballgame. Must be some other type of program (for which I am somewhat thankful, truth be told).

Let Me Root, Root, Root For The Home Team....

It's a wonderful old ball field. Old and out-dated, but classic. I always get a thrill coming up from below into the Infield Grandstand seats and seeing the Green Monster, the diamond, the scoreboard and the home team. I heard that the tours are interesting.

                      Just Returned

Just returned to the hotek *Marriott Copley) and you are correct. It has enormous character, and I have several photos.
The Massachusetts legislative folks, who are hostine the event, had several sorts of musical entertainment and all the ball game treats (hot dogs, beer, pretzels, etc.) making it an enjoyable night.
We saw Dick Gephardt leaving the park, but wasn't really sure it was him until the Lincoln limo picked him up.
Lyndon Larouche had a group of college students serenading with harmony and passing out literature.

Well the kid beat the old man in this round but still got a no decision.....oh its going to be a long month...ugh six more games against the sox...oh the humanity.

I do not like seeing Big Papi up to bat with the tying and wining runs on base....yikes.

                        Manny being manny.....I like it.

Red Sox have had our number for some time now....and we usually have the Yankees number...oh what a strange trip its been.

                        I will be there tonight!!!!!

Big Papi is the heart & soul of the Boston Red Sox. 'Tek may be the captain, but it's BP who is at the center.
I hope you catch a fly ball.
