The standings only say they are five back....wow....they are coming on. Sorry but we need to win every game...we just can't shake the M's.

We will try to make it up for you after we play you at Fenway...we have the evil empire coming to Anaheim Aug 20th for three games.

Well, we still have pitching and the Evil Empire doesn't, but they're hitting - especially Clemens !

Phew, both the Red Sox and the Yankees did what I wanted tonight. The Sox kept us waiting until the last moment. The Yankees just played dead.

          Hey Red !

Uh, Red...............2 words: Big Papi. What a thing of beauty to see him swing a homer and better yet, a grand slam.

It's so wonderful to watch the wheels fall off the bus.......... Just ribbing ya'.

Great series, you guys decidedly took one from us.

Now, just 5 ahead of "those guys". Too close for comfort. Can you guys help widen our lead ? Talk about the wheels falling off the bus for us .

ugh....I really do not like to be the visiting team at Fenway. We should have had that game....up 5-0.....then some bad breaks and I watch Big Papi rip a grand slam on the first pitch....they should just walk one run in and take our chances with Manram.

My favorite Bosox players are former Dodgers Gagme and Drew. I love those guys on your team.....actually you just have to like Big Papi...he is clutch and a real nice guy.

Just happy to have a split on that last road trip...Toronto and Boston road trip is usually real tough for the Angels.

And the M's are keeping pace and gaining on us....gotta hand it to them...they are doing great and its going to come down to the end. Even though I prefer to pull away from the M's I would rather have them (or us) as the Wild Card team in the AL.

We will do our best to hold off the evil empire this week...at least we are at home where we play better.

It was discussed on the radio today, Mon Aug 20th, which team should M's fans be routing for the next few days? Angels or the Evil Empire?

Since the M's will keep winning, I think having the Angels winning is to our advantage. And give us some breathing room with the wild card. Plus we'll be able to beat the angels this next week.

Since when is it ever good to have the Yanks win?

Thanks for the much-needed 10th inning help. You guys beat them, we beat the Rays and we're back at 5. Much too close for comfort, but one better than 4.

I showed up for batting practice at Anaheim yesterday and they never stopped.....when are they going to play the game?

18 runs later I realized it was the game.....sorry moose and joe. WTG GA...10 rbi's. And you are welcome beagset al, & RSN.

Come to think of it....we would rather play the evil empire as the wild card so while we help out the M's now no promises in the future.

It should be an exciting series vs. the M's.Don't get too cocky

Definitely an impressive night for GA. That guy's such an enigma. He looks awful sometimes, then looks awesome for awhile, then reverts. Makes me wonder how good
he could be if he were ever fully healthy.

You're right, Moose looked like he was throwing BP. I've seen him get hit hard, but never like last night.

The critical thing for the BoSox now is to beat the Yankees every time they play from here on. If the Sox can do that, they will help both Seattle and Anaheim make the playoffs.

We're working on that, however, the NYYs are hitting and hitting well, however, we just widened our lead to 6.5 which is exactly half from our best lead earlier this season.

Why, oh why do I inflict this on myself annually ?

Paul you are more than welcome. Glad he enjoyed himself. Please beat the yanks.

But please don't call us the "A's"....that is our division rival.

Good point....Now I could live with that. We have to worry about Detroit and Cleveland too. Now if Cleveland can beat Detroit everytime they play that would help too.
