  • Something GOOD In MLB

Congrats to Cal Ripkin on his induction into the Baseball Hall of Fame this weekend! A true sports role model and all around great representative for baseball. I don't know of another baseball player more deserving of such an honor, especially in the ugliness that HGH and steroids have brought to America's Great Pastime.

I loved the billboard in Baltimore right on I95 as you passed Camden Yards right after his retirement: "Heading for Cooperstown? Just follow Cal Ripken, Jr!!" (or something to that affect).

    Tony Gwynn

Don't forget Tony Gwynn who was also inducted into the Hall of Fame with Cal. We know Tony personally, and our son and him used to work out together in Poway CA. Tony was one of the great hitters of all time and is a great person. He is truly a credit to the game.

Tony was always a favorite of mine...a real regular guy and worked really hard. He was the 'Padres'.

These two, Cal and Tony, are fantastic examples and role models for MLB and for kids everywhere (adults too).

This is a slap in the face of all the steroid crap going on right now and the new records being broken.

Yes TSVon, I'm glad you posted this and as Red says, it's a slap in the kisser to the steroid gang.
