  • Should the NFL Ban Vick for Life?

I feel that Vick should never play in the NFL again.

I certainly don't condone what the guy has done. Dog fighting is a revolting activity as far as I am concerned. I don't see why he should be banned from his job for life because of it. There have been plenty of sportspeople banned for drug taking etc, and my understanding is that those bans are more often than not only for a couple of years. Their activity has had a direct effect on the game i.e. they were cheating. Is it seriously being suggested that it is OK to cheat at sport, but not to mistreat animals??

If they can ban a player for life for betting on baseball then they can ban a player for life from the NFL for dog fighting.

Yes, if he's guilty he should be banned for life and any records of his exsponged from the record books.

What he did was so horrendous that I think the public will be forever turned-off to him. Killing/torturing animals for fun.....Not really a forgivable offense, in my book.

BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.

Let's not forget the gambling aspect, ban him forever.

What Vick has done just makes me sick!
He will end up playing ball somewhere but should not be in the N.F.L.
Someplace that gets no press out of the U.S.

Just as people who commit crimes against children can have no contact with kids, Vick should NEVER be able to own any animal. He should be forced to clean animal cages ( no animals present ) as part of his dept to society. He can be #1 on the national registry for harming animals.

Humans are in dominion of animals. Pets are here for our care and pleasure.
Both Vick boys just never learned to play by life's rules. They thought they were above the law. They had so much going for them and threw it all away.
            So sad, just so sad!!

                YES.

No sports team should ever hire him again. Ever. I wouldn't hire him to clean my gutters. Same goes for the guys caught gambling, cheating or taking illegal drugs. Bunch of scumbags.

I don't think he should be banned for life. I'm guessing the NFL will suspend him for 1 or 2 years beyond his jail term. His lying to Roger Goodell certainly isn't going to help his case any.

I am guessing there will be enough public outrage that should he become eligible to play in the NFL in the future, no team will be willing to sign him.

It really is quite sad to see someone with the world in his hands piss it all away with such an egregious error in judgement.

I do not think he should banned for life, I also believe that no one in the NFL will want to hire him again. After he does his time, he should be allowed to work wherever he can find employment. He should not be allowed to own any animals. But community service at an animal shelter might do him good.

No! Wants he served his time in a federal prison and publicly apologies for act. He should be given a second chance.

Does any one here attend greyhound dogs races. What do you think happen to the greyhound when they can not race any more?

They were a story on CBS 60 Minutes about this tragedy story.

They come to Indy on a truck where a very active greyhound rescue group fosters and finds forever homes for them.

We tried to get Greyhound racing banned in Massachusetts, but lost by a small margin (heavy gambling lobbying) and yes, you are absolutley correct on this point. I belong to Greyhound Friends in Hopkinton, Ma.

I'll bet no one would want to play alongside a piece of #%@ like him and if playing against him, he'd be open (and deserving) of some big hits.

There is honor amongst thieves and after interning at the DA's office, I can tell you that inmates do not tolerate child, elder and animal abusers. He might not be able to physically play again after inmate justice is metted out. I don't condone this usually, but I'll make an exception in this case. It is what it is.

Michael Vick will remain a social pariah for the rest of his life. It really doesn't matter how sorry he is or what action the NFL takes against his status as a player.

The bottom line is that Americans care a LOT for their pets. Anyone who would mistreat them like Vick did will be labelled as truly evil in the eyes of Americans. What he did strikes at the hearts of animal lovers everywhere. I think Americans love their pets more than they do other people.

As a result, Michael Vick will never be able to work in the NFL again because Dog lovers will boycott games and owners won't take the chance. That's how serious they are about this act of evil.

Here is a mind teaser. What would PETA say about doggie abortion? Are they pro life or pro choice?

No, absolutely not. He should never, ever be allowed to be part of public entertaiment again.

And so what if he is sorry. He isn't sorry he tortured the dogs that wouldn't kill for him. He is just sorry he got caught and got caught in lying about it.

Some of the very worst sociopaths of society started out as animal abusers.

He just totally makes me sick. And I honestly hope he has to go to a "real" prison and fact the inmates there, not some Paris Hilton stop off point.

                              He is total scum.
