  • MLB Playoffs 2007 - here we go

Here comes the post season.....the Hunt For A Red October is here!!!!

Well the AL is pretty much a done deal and it all comes down to who has the best record for home field advantage.

Boston Red Sox - first to clinch playoff spot

Cleveland Indians - first to clinch division

LA Angels - second to clinch division (can you say time zone)

NY Yankees - it is just a matter of time with magic number at one.

So far it looks like it will come down to NY at Cleveland and Angels at Red Sox in the ALDS.

As I said in another post....I think any of the above teams have what it takes to go all the way this year. It will come down to pitching and who is hot or not.

    Will you be there?????

I was hoping for home field advantage so I could make the games as I am traveling the weekend of October 6th It doesn't look good and I will hopefully make it to the ALCS games at Angel Stadium.

    By the way:

As much hype as the Sox and Yankees get, and as much as I'd love to see the Halos win it all (again), I think the Indians may surprise some people in the playoffs. They've flown somewhat under the radar this year, yet have two of the top pitchers in the AL in Sabathia and Carmona (#'s 6 and 1, respectively, in AL ERA). They also have 4 of the top 34 players in AL OPS, each with more than 20HRs. I'll pick the Tribe and Halos to meet in the ALCS, although the Angels are pretty average away from home. Getting home field would be huge for the Angels, but it's looking less likely these days (down 6-2 to the Rangers as I type this). Should be a fun post-season!

No one has clinched a playoff spot in the NL. It is going to come down to the last game. Seven teams still in contention.

The Mets blew it again. And look out for Colorado....now 10 wins in a row and coming on strong with one more against the sad Dodgers and then three against the division leading Diamondbacks.

The AL was wrapped up tonight with a Yankees win.

After Sat game, the Mets were again tied with the Phils and 1 game out of the wild card. So with Glavine on the mound it sure looked good for the mets to at least tie for the East title and maybe the wild card too.

Sunday: Glavine goes 1/3 of an inning and gives up 7 runs. And the Met's season is over.
