How can a team that was in first place the entire season with a 7 game lead and 17 to go blow it?

I understand your pain. I was a Mets fan all those years when I was growing up and they never ceased to amaze.

Now I live in Boston and I had fears that my Boston Red Sox were going to cave, but luckily they stayed alive. Just last week I was talking with a Mets fan about a possible Mets/Sox World Series.
