  • Who do WANT to win the World Series?

Beags posted a poll on who you THOUGHT would win the World Series. A poll based on thinking, logic.

This poll is a who do WANT to win the World Series. A poll based on your heart, prejudice, dislikes, loyalty etc.

If you want to explain your vote, please do. I'm sure it will be interesting.
    26
    Boston Red Sox
    38.46%
    10
    Colorado Rockies
    61.54%
    16

    The poll is expired.

    mshatty,
Cool ! Yes, I pondered this for a while before posting the other poll as there can be a difference in "who are you rooting for" v. "who will win". As in the past, when the NYY played other teams, I thought that they, the NYYs would win, but I was rooting for the other team.

Naturally, it's the same to me, but not everyone, ergo -I'm rooting for the Sox and saying that the Sox will win, however, those Rockies are formidable and a team to be reckoned with.

Glad you posted this as I wrestled (no jello) with it.

At the risk of being redundant: I'm jealous!! But I'm really happy a tugger or two get to Fenway on a regular basis...

Since it can't be the Yankees, I am rooting for Boston. We have enjoyed many games at Fenway Park.

I remember growing up in the 60s being a huge Rockies fan. I can't tell you how I suffered thru those decades of losing. So, I'll be rooting for the Rockies.

Seriously, Who, but a resident of Denver could be rooting for the Rockies?

Must've been that stuff you were smoking or the thin air.................

(For those who aren't aware, the Rockies became a team in the early '90s, so technically, they're not a real baseball team - you know, one of those expansion teams. ) I really like Denver, stayed there in the Cherry Creek area for a conference once, great hotel and restaurants. Closed a brewery bar down with my cousin. Great people, nice mountains, but a wild ride in from the airport with a crazed cabbie.

Who would've thought that so many TS4Ms members lived in Denver (as per the poll results thus far)?

I will root for anyone against the Evil Empire (yankees) and the wanna-be evil empire (redsox)....explains why I am rooting for the Rockies. I could really care less about the Rockies except that I root for them over the Dodgers and Giants.

One of my new slogans is:

NY Yankees champions? - not in this millennium.

Red Sox fans should appreciate that....

                          No Boston anything

Looks like most are rooting against the Red Sox, not necessarily for the Rockies. At least it is that way with me.

As a St. Louis Cardinals fan who recently lost a World Series to the Red Sox, and a St. Louis Rams fan who in 2001 lost the Superbowl to the Patriots, cant say I wish the Boston sports teams any good luck. Time for them to feel the pain of losing, as those teams did to all my St. Louis friends and family.

                          Good luck Rockies.

That's a shame as we, RSN, really respected the 2004 St. Louis Cardinals and saluted them as well as their fans. Nice fans, good team.
Believe me, Pats and Sox fans know only too well the pain of losing. This is not a concept lost on us. We were always snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. We have a loooong history of losing. This winning thing is only recent and like all things, will pass. In the meantime, we've earned our day in the sun after much struggle and humiliation.
