I find it odd that there are no current college football threads. With less than a month left in the season, the Heisman race, BCS rankings banter, etc. are in full swing. Any college football fans out there?

Maybe they are all confused or in shock. Upsets have not been uncommon. Notre Dame has been pathetic. UCONN has a chance of winning the Big East after being picked to finish 6th in the conference. And now it's Basketball season- but that's another story.

Oregon just lost Dixon and the game to the AZ Wildcats.....now USC has a shot at the Rose Bowl.

Can't Figure
I think you don't see much because nobody seems to have a handle on what is happening this year. The teams at the top keep falling week after week. The once great teams from the past have vanished this year and QB'S from top teams have been getting knocked out left and right.
I know my expectations were for either Cal or USC to be at the top and boy was I wrong.

Who to pick each week?
All the upsets and such it is hard to root for a team one week knowing that they will play you later in the season and perhaps pull off an upset! That is exactly what I did in the Big Ten this year.
I root every game for the Buckeyes of Ohio but when they weren't playing each other I was rooting for Illinois! They showed some good things this season and their best plays were played last Saturday!
I'm definitely rooting for the Bucks to cream BLUE this weekend!
What a great season!JEMartin

Yeah, it's been a great year for upsets and underdogs. Lots of parity across the country.
Really sad that Dixon went down last night. I'm not a Duck fan, per se, but he was probably the front runner for the Heisman, and obviously, the Ducks are a very average team without his playmaking and leadership. Hate to see a teams NC hopes go down the drain with one injury.
It'll be interesting to see what happens if Kansas can run the table. It would be hard to deny them a spot in the NC game, but they don't get much respect from the poll voters.
For those of you that haven't seen him yet, Colt Brennan of Hawaii may be on ESPN tonight at 11:00 EST against Nevada. I say may, because he went out last week with a concussion and isn't definite for tonight. He's a product of the Mouse Davis run-n-shoot offense, but the kid can really sling it. Hawaii is a fun team to watch, even if they seldom run it or play much defense. They are the highest rated non-BCS team at the moment and will make a BCS bowl if they win their last 3 games.
Tonyg, I love to watch the Big East games. Lots of evenly matched teams in that conference. I'm surprised that UConn is as good as they are and that Louisville has fallen off so much under Kragthorpe. Cincy seems to have found a good head coach, so with Rutgers, USF and WV that conference should remain competitive for quite awhile.
Lots of good stuff to happen in the next 3 weeks!Jim

The Hawaii-Nevada game last night was awesome (except that it wasn't over until about 1:00 MST). Hawaii remained unbeaten on a 45yd field goal with 11 seconds remaining. Brennan only played a few snaps, but Graunke kept the Warriors offense running smoothly (33/46 for 360yds - 2TDs).
The "big" game today is tOSU/Michigan for a probable Rose Bowl berth. Another big game is Cincy/WVU in the Big East. Also BC/Clemson in the ACC, and UGA/Kentucky in the SEC.Jim

Its a tough time to be a Duck. Dixon is out for the season with a torn ACL. That is 7 major players we have lost this year. If the team can suck it up and win out, and if SC knocks off Arizona State we can still win the Pac 10 and get to the Rose Bowl. We have UCLA and Oregon State left, both are going to be tough. Because of last Thursday's game we have an extra 2 days to get ready. Go Ducks!

Down a Duck
Kenny,
Sorry to see your Ducks lose Dixon. He was such a threat and to think he already tore his ACL (as the reports are leading us to believe) and was going to play anyway, WOW what a man!!! I am not a Duck fan per se but I do like a good team that rallies behind a great leader!
And, my Buckeyes beat BIG BLUE. And with Kansas or Missouri going down next week (since they play each other), I can only hope that it will lift the Bucks to #4. Then, 2 other upsets and they are in the BCS Champ Game! Long shots - don't you love 'em!
