    Jimbo,

So far so goodfor the Bucks. Keeping an eye on Kansas/Missouri today while I watch the Ducks take on UCLA.

Yeah USC......played like they know how when healthy....nice win over Arizona State.

Nice job UCLA taking care of the Ducks....now USC needs to rip UCLA (payback for last year) and on to the Pac 10 championship, the Rose Bowl....and the buckeyes...or?????

LSU loses....Mizzou beats #2 KU....should be some interesting shake-out in the top 25 and another exciting weekend coming up. Chase Daniel was great. Kansas made a game of it in the second half...missing those two field goals was huge.

Heisman should be interesting as well....Colt Brennan of WAC champion Hawaii looks great too.

Well, the Ducks tanked. Lost our 2nd string QB in the first quarter and played 2 redshirt freshmen the rest of the game. Offense couldn't move the ball, defense was stellar. 9 of the Bruins 16 points came on turnovers by our offense.
Now we have to play the big rivalry game against Oregon State. I'm sure they smell the blood.

With this weeks results the BCS is going to be interesting. Rankings have sure been topsy-turvy.

Well my vote is MIZZOU should be number "One" in the BCS Polls over West VA.

MIZZOU defeated the number 2 team in last week BCS Polls.

Here's some commentary from Kirk Herbstreit (who I think is generally pretty clueless), that I agree with completely. Does anyone really think the winner of a possible WVU/tOSU national championship game is the best team in college football, particularly if tOSU should win?

                    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The debate we had last year about who should Ohio State play, should it be Michigan or should it be Florida, is at the root of this. A lot of people wanted Michigan. A lot of people wanted Florida. Florida goes in and they dismantled Ohio State.

… Because we had that debate, because Florida got in and dominated Ohio State, and because USC dominated Michigan [in the Rose Bowl], it's really had an effect where people are like, 'Oh, no, not again. Do we have to have that slow team from the Big Ten in the mix again? They already had their chance. Get them out of here.'

In my opinion, Ohio State could do more about [improving] the image people have of its program by playing a talented USC team that right now is as hot as any in the country … I promise you, if Ohio State goes into the Rose Bowl, everyone is going to be saying, 'USC is going to kill Ohio State.'

… Ohio State will gain more respect if it plays USC in the Rose Bowl and wins that game, than if it goes and beats West Virginia and wins the national title. From an image standpoint, Ohio State would score more points going to the Rose Bowl than by going to the national championship game. If you can believe that, that's the truth.

                      And if they lose

You are correct, a strong USC team which I see as the team to beat. All the top teams this year lost when they had players injured. Many of those players are back and that is why teams such as USC look so strong again.

                        Mizzou is #1

Mizzou vs. West Virginia is gonna be for the national championship unless Oklahoma beats Missouri in the Big 12 title game on Saturday.

A great passing team (Missouri) vs. a great running team (West Virginia).

I think it will be good for a change instead of the same old teams.

What really is unfair is that some conferences dont play conference championship games and those teams get to take a week off before the bowl games. They all should play a conference championship game or none of them.

We will be at the Rose Bowl and my only wish is that the PAC 10 wins regardless of which PAC 10 team goes.

Yes, you're right. But OU is favored to beat Mizzou, which would presumably throw Ohio State into the NC game.

                              Musing on the BCS

Seems like everybody in the media whines about the BCS not being a playoff like Division II and III.

                              Some points:

They seem to ignore those playoffs are over long before the BCS circus is finished, thus allowing the players some time in the classroom while a Division IA playoff would probably last until the end of MLB Spring Training

Who is going to fill a 70000 seat stadium at widely varying sites for three weeks in a row to follow their team?

Who decides the seedings, which by the way would probably be based on voting by the same whiners about the current system and the way they rank teams now?

Whining about having to play a Championship Game like the SEC and Big 12 when the "rotten teams " from the Big Ten and PAC Ten do not is a bit over the top. If they think its unfair, don't do it. Nobody makes them play the game except their own conference.

My take is the whole unceasing whining by the media about the terrible BCS is the way they fill the blank web page and newspapers when they can't think of anything else. Any Bowl is a good Bowl for the teams and their players. Most recruits only look to see if they team they may sign with has a chance to play for the BCS Championship, not the fact that Humongous State U won this year.

I just enjoy the games and hope the fix lasts through the steroid filled, so called Major League Baseball Season is over again.

                              Cheers

                                If Missouri loses Saturday

If Missouri loses Saturday against Oklahoma it appears Ohio State will be in the National Championship.

This opens up the Rose Bowl for the Illini

                                Probably Illinois vs. USC

If Missouri wins Saturday, my Illini will play Florida, Coach Zook vs. his old team. Good stuff either way.
