What a mess the BCS has become now! No's 1 and 2 go down and a team that hasn't played in two weeks will likely be the new #1. It's quite humorous that a system designed to insure that #1 will play #2 for the NC will probably be no better than the old poll system this year.

I'm not sure who I think should play for the NC, but it's hard to argue against LSU as one of the teams. Their two losses were both in triple OT, and both against decent programs. Almost every other 2 loss team has an semi-embarrassing loss on their record.

      Probably Illinois vs. USC

If Missouri wins Saturday, my Illini will play Florida, Coach Zook vs. his old team. Good stuff either way.
Looks like your Illini are going to the Rose Bowl. Will find out tonight at 8.

Of course, may I say that the Buckeyes are headed back to the title game to show the SEC they can play ball. Unfortunately, the team could use a little maturing but we will take the opportunity even so.

Go Bucks! AND Go Illini!!! Always a fan of the Big Ten especially a team that has improved so immensely! Coach Zook, my hat is off to you!

I went to the UCLA-USC game this weekend. It's great that USC is going to the Rose Bowl.

I'll take 10-2 and a Rose Bowl berth every year.

Not sure how I feel about playing the Illini. What happened to Missouri?

We need to scrap the BCS and have an 8 team playoff. It will never happen, but that is what is needed.

USC should hammer Illinois. The Big 10 is in serious trouble in most, if not all, of their bowl games.

Missouri got hosed. They lose two games to the same team, and don't get into a BCS game, but Kansas does? The BCS is really laughable. I'd personally prefer a 12 team playoff, but anything would be better than the existing system.

I agree that USC is one of the teams that is top notch here at the end of the season but I wouldn't discount the Illini. They showed great fortitude this year and if they are firing on all cyclinders then they may wind up with a win.

Either way it should be a good game.

I agree, anything can happen. It wouldn't bother me at all if Illinois pulled the upset, but I wouldn't put money on it.

It'll be hard to beat last year's Fiesta Bowl for excitement. It's getting more and more mention as being the greatest college football game of all time. I was fortunate enough to be in Glendale to watch the Broncos roll in person. A once in a lifetime experience, and a lifelong memory.

It is really a shame that there is not a playoff in NCAAF.

To bad USC is not playing Ohio State in the Rose Bowl. That would have been USC's chance to prove themselves and move up into the annual dispute about who deserves to be national champ.

They better not take the Illini lightly.

I don't think USC will take them lightly but will run up the score on Illinois so much that they could have taken them lightly.

Maybe Illinois shouldnt bother showing up against the great USC, please.

Get ready for the beat down MSHATTY. The Illni are coming into the freakin house of USC to show them what basically a freshman/sophomore led team can do to the PAC-10 champ IN THEIR HOUSE.

I would love to see this game played AT ILLINOIS, the Big 10 is ALWAYS at a HUGE disadvantage at the Rose Bowl, but nonetheless here in Illini nation, the team is soaking up the disrespect coming out of SoCal and will be giving it back on New Years Day.

The only thing Illinois will be giving up on New Years Day is a lot of points.

The good thing is that I will be there in person to witness it.
