Connecticut wins Paradise Jam tournament with wins over Stanford (no.4), Old Dominion, and Duke (no.9). Ranked 2nd, all 10 of last year's players are back and adding newcomers Maya Moore and Loren Dickson, they look like they may go all the way. Brittany Hunter had knee surgery in the off season and is playing her best ever. Last year's freshman sensation, Tina Charles also went under the knife for a long time shoulder problem and she has improved and seems to be playing without pain. Freshman Maya Moore has already shown signs of greatness coming off the bench and scoring consistently in double figures. No wonder that Tennessee doesn't want to play them any more.

Should anyone want to see the freshman phenom, Maya Moore, mark your calendar for January 6 (2008) 1:30 EST on CBS for Connecticut at Purdue. For those of us in state, 23 games will be on CPTV this year.

Elena Della Donne has now committed to UCONN for next year and it is looking like UCONN will be the Womens' College basketball powerhouse for the next five years- barring injuries. Looks like this year is one of those years that "the game" would have been most highly anticipated and it may be the last or next to last game played.
