  • Tiger wins again!

I don't expect there are many golf fans here, but I figured I'd start a thread anyway.

Tiger Woods just won the Dubai Desert Classic for his 2nd win in as many starts this year. As much as I get sick of "All Tiger, All the Time" on any golf related program, I am starting to believe that what Tiger Woods is accomplishing may be the greatest sports achievement of all time. For those of you that play golf, I'm sure there's the appreciation of his ability to dominate in a sport that is so variable in nature. Particularly against competition that recognizes how good he is and has dedicated themselves to being his equal. Six or so years ago, one could've surmised that Tiger had "sneaked up" on the tour and caught them by surprise, or that he'd peak and become a mere mortal. But that hasn't happened. He's been incredibly consistent and dominant in the face of increased competition. Simply amazing!

I know! Birdied 5 of his last 7 to shoot a 65. Won by one shot. Els finished 2 back.

I don't play golf anymore due to back problems but I am a great fan of the PGA. I am also a very strong fan of Tiger Woods. Nothing he does surprises me. I believe he is the greatest golfer of all time and he is just in his prime.

The Tiger is just incredible....in a few years he will have smashed all records.

The one guy who was in a pretty good position to compete day in and day out with Tiger was David Duval, IMHO. Unfortunately, back problems have largely sidelined him
over the past few years. I keep waiting for Sergio or Padraig Harington or someone to pose a serious challenge to Tiger's dominance, but it may never happen.
