Saw that on another thread. Don't get up much these days (just family stuff- had to sell Mom's house at White Horse Beach when she passed last year) We had it for 40 years so it was a total bummer to let it go. I'll keep watching the thread on it and keep in in mind......

BTW The poor commercials were because of the writers strike.

We chuckled over the Doritos commercial with the giant mouse and of course the Clydesdales (spelling?) got a big AWWW

I agree with Connie! give me a break. Do you really think the Patriots were undefeated and got to the Superbowl Championship game by cheating? There was another quote on this thread by someone who called him a whiner.
Come on! I am a huge Patriots fan from Boston who now lives in VA. I watched every game this season. I never saw Tom whine or act like a baby once.
I will say this:
Congrats to the GIANTS! They played an awesome game last night! Both teams played well but the better team won. Of course I would have loved to see our team make history but they didn't. There is always next year.
We had 2002, 2004 & 2005.

To those of you who are sore winners, I say use the manners your Mom tried to teach you and stop acting ungraciously. We wouldn't be behaving this way had we won.

1) Yes, the Patriots were caught cheating in game 1 vs the Jets and were subsequently punished by the NFL. Didn't that make the news in VA?

2) I am not a Giants fan. Never have been. Never will be.

3) The Patriots DID in fact make history yesterday. First team to go 18-1 and not win the Super Bowl.

All I can say is, "WHAT A GAME". GO GIANTS!!!!!!

I agree the commercials were awful. Some were even disturbing. The heart one was just awful. I never even heard of some of the businesses and didn't get some of the commercials at all! I wasn't even very happy with the half time show. I guess they went with someone safe! Oh well, is was a great game. One of those on the edge of your seat kind.

I will say this: Congrats to the GIANTS! They played an awesome game last night! Both teams played well but the better team won.

Well, Junior Seau correctly observed just a few days ago that it's not necessarily the better team that wins any game, but the team that plays better that day. Those words were eerily prophetic. Last night, the NY Giants clearly played better, and won.

I am personally disappointed to not see the Patriots go undefeated this year from start to finish to establish (still another) new NFL record, but I nonetheless tip my cap to the NY Giants. They earned and they deserved the win. Congratulations to the SuperBowl Champions.

P.S. I must admit that I enjoyed seeing those camera shots of Peyton Manning watching the SuperBowl ----- from the stands, in street clothes.

In all actuality, I don't care. Although I would love to know why Goodell didn't clear the Patrtiots of any wrongdoing when he had the perfect opportunity, I really don't care if the Pats cheat their way to winning the next 10 SB's or all have their careers ended in a massive Boston traffic accident. Mostly, it's damned cold here and I can't golf, and I'm stuck writing up a patent disclosure here at work, so I've decided to heckle you Bostonians. We're all entitled to a little pre-holiday amusement, aren't we?

One final word, it obviously makes far more sense for the NFL to destroy evidence condemning the Patriots than it would to destroy evidence exonerating them. Anyone that won't at least acknowledge that observation is either sleeping with Tom Brady, or has been over indulging in eggnog.

Kathleen, between us, don't respond any more to these baited posts. Like I said in my PM, this is a so-called snide technique used by those wishing to imply that an apology was warranted or given. It's frequently used by those wishing to appear clever. It is used by some in our other threads as well. Just ignore it, it's of no importance; putting words into others' mouths never is.
