IMO he is guilty, Throw the book or sink or what ever you have on hand cause he is guilty and in denial. I have more respect for those who say they did it and then apologize. Giambi was one of those.Timeshareforums Shirts and Mugs on sale now! http://www.cafepress.com/ts4ms

Okay, I have to say this about that........
With all Congress has to deal with (or hasn't dealt with) like returning Vets' suicide rates, the debacle of the VA Hosptial system, the underserved homeless and non-homeless............. I could go on........... is a Congressional hearing really necessary at this time ? Can't MLB work this out with a team of Mitchell folks or similar ?

In my opinion Congress is going after this because one of its own has been challenged, George Mitchell. They could give a rats as... about McNamee. Clements is so stupid because he thinks that he is going to be able to bully people into believing him. He thinks he can convince Congress and the public with his aggressive ways.
Meanwhile, his world is fallling apart all around him and he doesn't even notice. He's the king without any clothes.

Clemens is really like Pete Rose. He may have a hard time getting into the Hall of Fame like Mark McGuire. We shall see.
I agree that we should end this. Mitchell recommended, if I am not mistaken, that no action be taken against the athletes.
Perhaps George W. Bush should just pardon everyone involved in this debacle. He is already a despised President. Taking the fall for Baseball could be one of his Presidency's legacies.

What is more important to this Congress, Roger Clemens or state of our economy ? Sorry guys the automotive industry and all of our manufacturing industry are taking hit, after hit every day and we are losing jobs every day to China and other countries.
The better paying jobs for middle class American are going across the pond.

At the end of the day, there are only two types of solutions to losing manufacturing jobs overseas.
First, our auto manufacturers must create (design and deliver) better cars at a superior value than the foreign competition. That is up to the management of the auto manufacturers and their employees. NOT the government. No government ever created an automobile than anyone wanted.
Second, create new jobs in new industries where we have a natural advantage NOT based on labor costs. This is still the private sector, not the government. Government can fund instrastructure that can help business. That does work because it makes business more productive.
If middle class employees are not making ends meet due to wages being squeezed, then they need to take matters into their own hands and start creating their own businesses. Immigrants do it all the time. No reason they can't except for belief that they can do it and taking action to try.
The people of our country need to learn what it means to be competitive against intense foreign competition. My biggest concern is the entitlement mentality that many Americans have. Nobody owes you anything. We all owe it to ourselves to figure out how to become globally competitive and taking the appropriate actions to protect our families.

Actually it is a job forced upon Congress because "professional" sports will do little or nothing against their participants without oversight.
