Hi Ken,

With you having 2 players from the Browns playing the Giants. (Braylon Edwards, WR and Phil Dawson, K.) And with me having a 31 point lead. I would have bet the house. I'm glad I didn't.

Edwards had 1,3,2,8 points for the first 4 weeks and a bye.

Dawson had 4,6,4,8 points for the first 4 weeks and a bye.

So Edwards get you 23.4 points and Dawson gets you 9 points and you win by 1.3 points

Locked out of drop/add

Hey Commish, I tried to do a transaction and it was queued up for Wednesday morning. The rules say we should be able to make moves up to 5 mins before the first game kicks off

My son picked up a QB this morning and he was added to his roster right a way. I checked the setting and they are set so add/drops can be done up until 5 minutes before game time.


Let me know who you wanted to add or drop and I will make the transaction for you.

I just realized the guy I was trying to pick up was probably just dropped in the last day or two so he can't be picked up yet....someday I'll learn how to play this game!

This is what I found on CBS web site. It looks like you can make line-up changes up until 5 min. before game time but waiver are different. See the quote below from CBS web site.

"For Commissioner Leagues:

All players go on waivers after the lineup locks each week. Once the initial waiver process runs, all players are free agents until a half-hour before the first game on Sunday. However, if there are Thursday or Saturday games, the players involved in those games will be placed on Waivers five minutes prior to the start of their game and will not be eligible to be added to a team's roster until the first Waivers process of the following week runs."

Len, after thinking about it for a few minutes I remeber the rule but I thought it was one hour before game time. I hope this clears things up. If you have any questions or concerns please let me know.

Looking at the time stamp of your post you should have been able to make the transaction (if it is 30 min. before game time). Let me check some more. Can you PM the players name to me?

I am pissed off... I am really PISSED OFF. This is the second week in a row that I have had an illegal lineup. It is because of the 2 day waiver wire rule. I am going to post a poll about getting rid of that rule for next year. Also not being aware of a Thrusday night game didn't help.

I don't have a defense on my roster. I tried to pick one up Thurs morning. This is the reply I got when I submitted the transaction.

Pending Will be processed Saturday morning (11/8)

The "Pending Will be processed Saturday morning (11/8)" should have been a red flag but I had a brain fart.

when the defense shows on your team Saturday, as long as it's not Denver or Cleveland, you can adjust your roster. It will become legal at that point.
It happened in my other league last week, that owner fixed his lineup at the afternoon games.

You could pick up a defense right now that already cleared waivers to test this. IE Patriots or Falcons. Saints should be the only defense not available yet.

The two day wait period needs to be there, it's only for players cut. All owners need a fair chance to see who gets cut. All CBS leagues have that as a default, it's completely fair. When you pick up a player, it tells you BEFORE you select him the date he's available. As managers, we need to select our players and trade so they are able to be used for that weeks games.

It's the same way in all sports. When a player gets cut, they must clear waivers before a team can sign him. The whole idea of fantasy sports is to be an owner of the team. The waiver process is just another way to add to the experience. Exampe, Raiders cut D. Hall two days ago. He cleared waivers today and the Redskins were able to sign him.

I agree...I was just frustrated. The fact it happened 2 weeks in a row didn't help my frustration. I will chalk it up to operator error. I will pick up another D and see what happens.
