Angels Clinch the AL West yesterday

It looks like AL Central and AL East will go down to the wire. The AL East will likely get the Wild Card as well as the Twins are 5.5 games back....maybe if the the Rays or Sox collapse which does not seem likely.

So the ALDS will be likely be:

Angels vs. Red Sox or Rays

Rays or Red Sox vs. White Sox or Twins

    In the NL who knows......

Will the Mets collapse again this year? Only 3.5 up over the Phils. Magic number is 14.

Brewers could catch the Cubs but the cubbies have shown good staying power so far. NL Wild Card likely to be one of these two.

NL Worst is a crap shoot......Dodgers have a 3.5 game lead over Diamondbacks but that could change in a week.

It should be an interesting two weeks.

Can the Astros do it again? Big push for the wild card. They still have some of their players who did it 2 years ago.

Anything can happen when the Mets are involved. Last year they blew a 7 game lead needing just 1 win, I do not think it will happen again but who knows history can repeat itself.

        LA vs LA World Series.
        That's how I see it.
Are you my friend Danny? How about a Fresca?

K-Rod tied the single season saves record (57 by Bobby Thigpen in 1990, CHW) last night. He has 16 more games to break the record. Figure he'll end up with 60-62 saves assuming he's given the opportunities. What's ironic about this is that he's really not been as dominant as he has in the past (K's down), but the Angels have won a ton of close ball games this year. It will be interesting to see what type of offers he receives in the FA market if he doesn't re-sign.

Way to go K-Rod! Go Halos!

He will test free agency. I doubt the Angels will meet the price. I predict he will be a NY Yankee next season.

I agree. Wouldn't be surprised to see Arredondo in the closer spot next year.

Anyone have any thoughts on who will win the NL Cy Young? It's pretty apparent Cliff Lee has the AL award sewn up, but will Webb or Lincecum (Sabathia?, Sheets?) win it in the NL? Webb has more wins, but Lincecum has better numbers while pitching for a very mediocre team. They each should have 3 or 4 more starts to make their cases.

The team with the highest payroll, where is that "Team" ? LA Angles vs the LA Dodgers that would be great for baseball.

                        Congrats K-Rod.

Good for baseball???? No one outside LA would bother to watch!!!!

And the Angels will have to beat the Bo Sox in the playoffs to get there....

How has that worked out for the Angels over the last several years????

                          GO SOX!!!!!
