If 2 people want the same player the owner that is highest on the Waiver List gets the player. You put in a "want list" of players before Tuesday and hope you get that player. The team with the best record may never get the best player available.


Rules for our league.


• Lineup deadline is 5 minutes before gametime for each player.
• Owners may set lineups.
• Transactions will lock five minutes before the first game on Sunday. Players whose teams play before Sunday will be locked for the remainder of the scoring period.
• Add/drops are handled by a waivers process.
• The waivers process runs on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
• The waiver order resets after each weeks' games.
• Dropped players remain on waivers for at least 2 day(s). • Trades must be approved by the commissioner.
• No trades can be made after the trade deadline of 11:59 pm et 11/29/09.

I have changed the trade trade deadline to 12-12-09 and added when the playoffs start to the rules. If there are any mistakes please let me know. Once again thanks Walt for posting the rules.

Draft:
• Live Draft, 9/8/09 06:30 pm ET.
• 16 Rounds, with 90 seconds between picks.
• Draft robot enabled - picks are made automatically for teams that let the clock expire.

Player Pool: AFC and NFC Players.

Positions: QB, RB, WR, TE, WR-TE, K and DST.

Transactions:

Scoring for Offensive Categories
FG - Field Goals 3 points
Plus 2 points for a FG of 50+ Yds

FL - Fumble Lost, Including ST plays -2 points
Pa2P - Passing Two-point Conversion 2 points
PaInt - Passing Interception -2 points
PaTD - Passing TD 6 points
PaYd - Passing Yards 0+ PaYds = .1 points for every 3 PaYds

Re2P - Receiving Two-point Conversion 2 points
ReTD - Receiving TD 6 points
ReYd - Receiving Yards 0+ ReYds = .1 points for every 1 ReYd

Ru2P - Rushing Two-point Conversion 2 points
RuTD - Rushing TD 6 points
RuYd - Rushing Yards 0+ RuYds = .1 points for every 1 RuYd

XP - Extra Points 1 point


Scoring for Defensive Categories
DFR - Defensive/ST Fumble Recovered (ID/DT/DST) 2 points
DTD - Total Defensive and Special Teams TD 6 points
Int - Interceptions 2 points
PA - Points Against, Total Points Scored 0 - 6 PA = 8 points
7 - 13 PA = 6 points
14 - 20 PA = 4 points
21 - 27 PA = 2 points

SACK - Sack 1 point
STY - Safety 2 points
YDS - Yards Allowed 0 - 49 YDSs = 12 points
50 - 99 YDSs = 10 points
100 - 149 YDSs = 8 points
150 - 199 YDSs = 6 points
200 - 249 YDSs = 4 points
250 - 299 YDSs = 2 points

Well, I wish that I had spent some time educating myself on drafting strategy beforehand. I was just winging it and ended up grabbing the Giants defense and my kicker kind of early. Also, for some reason I thought that it was 1 QB, 1 RB, 2 WR and 1 TE per week so I drafted based on that assumption.

Evidently you have to factor in injuries and bye weeks as well. For instance I have a lot of players with byes on week 4. And what do I do when the Giants have a bye? I have no other defense.

How do we go about trades and dropping/adding players? Is there a tutorial somewhere on the sight?

I apologize for my rookie mistakes. I would have asked these questions beforehand but I didn't know what I didn't know.

Looks like Lawren might have some competition for the cellar this year!

Hey don't worry some of us only I have 1 defense and 1 kicker. During their bye week you drop a player and add a defense or kicker.

Here are my players and their bye week. I am in the same situation you are in during week 5. My QB and 3 WR/TE are on byes that week. I will use my reserve players to fill out a starting lineup.

For week 4 if I were you I would play 2 TEs and my reserve QB. For week 7 drop a weaker player and pick another kicker and do the same for your defense in week 10.

I would like to propose a rule change for next year. I noticed that my #1 RB has -4 yards and 0 points. If its possible, I think negative yards should result in negative points. A WR who tries an end around and loses 15 yards should have 1.5 points subtracted from his overall score. The only drawback is that QB's that kneel to end the game lose a yard but we could exclude QB's from this rule. I meant to propose this before we started so I'm putting it out there now before I forget again.

If I remember right 2 years ago we decided to have negative point for yardage lost. Does anyone else think we decided to have negative point?

If not we can look at changing the scoring system along with the drafting procedure next year. Before the season ends we will have 2 polls to get input form other team owners.

On paper Dan, Purple People Eaters, Beach Bums, and Sack Pack look about equal. They all have strong and weak postions. For me it is hard to choose 1 over the other.
