My son mentioned the same thing to me about 5 hours ago. he also said that the Jets will be working on getting a better defense going. If they do not go for a quarterback look for them to beef up the line.

Comparison of a past defensive player vs. RB as NFL first pick

Reuters or Yahoo Sports made an interesting comparison to a prior 1980's era NFL draft. That year, a RB was picked first - George Rogers and a defensive player was picked second - Lawrence Taylor. New York fans know all too well which of those two picks helped deliver their team a Super Bowl - actually two of them. I don't expect that a Super Bowl is in the cards for either team any time soon. Hopefully both teams fare well with their respective choices - but the RBs tend to have shorter careers in the NFL than other positions due to the inherent pounding their position takes.
