  • What Do You Think About Your NFL's Team First Round Draft Choice?

    Packers: A.J. Hawk

Regarded by many as the best defensive player in college football, the two-time All-American was a model of consistency throughout his Buckeyes career.

I like the choice. Some say he is the 2nd coming of #66, Ray Nitschke. Those are some big shoes to fill. I hope he can do it.

    Bears

OK, admittedly I don't follow this too much, but my husband does and then fills me in. the Bears gave up their 1st round pick, not sure exactly what they got for it though.

I do know that the Bears drafted almost all defensive players. Given their lack of offense this past year, I am a little surprised. I'm figuring that they are just going to punt on every first down, and leave it to the defense entirely.

Jets got what they needed most but they still need more.

        A Safety

The Buffalo Bills drafted 8th and picked a %$#@& Safety! Who picks a safety in the first round yet alone the first 10 picks! Ok I've calmed down now. Thanks for letting me vent.

Mario when to school about 15 miles from where we live. Other than this I do not follow football, but my husband does.

I'm with you - it seems they could have traded down & got that pick and another for free and still made the trade with Chicago. I was at the stadium for the draft day party and the response there was not positive. As a Bills fan I hope we're wrong and they are right.

              Do you feel lucky!

IMHO, the Bolts in San Diego are still trying to dig themselves out of the Ryan Leaf mess.

I know the ESPN guys were ripping the Antonio Cromartie choice. However, Charger GM, AJ Smith, has made some good moves in the draft. This year though, I admit, he's really rolled the dice. Overall, right now I'd give it a C+, could be an A if things pan out, though.

If Cromartie becomes the "Deion Sanders that will tacke" and Marcus McNeill's back problems are not a problem in the NFL, then the Bolts drafted the players we soley needed - a shut-down CB that Quentin Jammer never developed in to , and a left O-tackle (6' 7.5", 332 lbs.) Getting Whitehurst, a QB, was a pleasant surprise. Also, getting a blocking TE, (Brandon Manumaleuna from the Rams for a fourth round pick) should help LT as he will have a six-man blocking line!

However, this is one that only time will tell. Right now, I'm optimistic though.

Prediction: I agree with those to project that Cromartie will be Defensive Player Rookie of the Year following Shawnee Merriman!

                Patriots

I was surprised by the pick.

Indeed, I was surprised by the emphasis on offence by the overall draft.

Belichick and Poili had a different agenda and as is common in NE after so much success " in Belicheck we trust"

I think the Jets had one of the best drafts, they had a tought situation and seem to have corrected their offencive line problems via the draft.

Divisional play hopefully will see the same order of finish as last year.
