  • Trouble/Problem HELP or Things to do in Kissemmee

I will be scanning to gleen stuff from the web. However, I know there are thousands out there with experience.

What are some of the resturants and to-do-&-see items close to Villas at Fortune Place, 1201 Simpson Road, Kissimmee?

That's out away from the heart of the action, but near my favorite day-killer, Remington Golf Club, home of All You Can Eat, Hit and Play. I spent Leap Day there this year, from 6 AM to 6 PM, while DW flew to Branson and back. I had breakfast, hot dog and soda at the turn, Lunch, soda at the turn, and 36 holes of golf.

    $45.

Can't say I know where you are, but I can guesstimate. There was a decent small Chinese restaurant in a little shopping center in that end of Kissimmee on the right of the main drag heading away from the action. Nearer Disney on the main drag there was a Golden Corral buffet---can;t go wrong there.

        Well, actually you can:

DW had to deal with this, and it was traced to a certain buffet, not Jimmy.

I am relieved that this is just a request for area restaurants and to-dos!

            Yeah, it sounded urgent.

Sorta like me being in Spain, huh?
I wasn't thinking to swiftly, but got the attention of a couple faithful members.
Apparently not too many frequent Kissimmee.

              Thanks for trying to assist.

Villas at Fortune Place is barely to the east of Kissimmee. Boggy Creek Road (County road 530) & Fortune Road area.
Near Ext 244 of FL Turnpike.

So what to see outside of the Disney type parks?

                  Robert, you can :

                  Do an airboat ride.
Head up to Blue Springs State Park to see the manatees,(during the winter months)
Visit Downtown Disney. It's free, but evening is best. Have dinner at Raglan Road.
Sea World is very nice. There is lots to see there, not just rides..
Have lunch at Steak and Shake, very nearby on 192

That's all I can think of at the moment. Hope this helps.

We enjoy going to downtown Celebration. I also do all of the outlet malls. The one on the far end of I-Drive is really nice since the re-did it.

I don't know what it's called or where it is (now that's a lot of help) but there is a Christian Theme Park that I think you would like. Not my cup of tea, but something I think you & Carol might like. How about a trip to Gatorland??? I 2nd Seaworld. If you do go, go to see Clyde the Sea Lion but go about 1/2 hr early just so you can see the mime, he is hilarious!!

                          Who knows much?

Ya know, I've been thinking I should change RESORT2ME to NOTSOSURE.

Jim, thanks! The Florida expert knows much. Maybe been around here long enough to no longer need notes.
                          Your memory serves you well'

I see OY has reviews still going, but resturant and Do&See items are not included.

There are so many areas around Kissimmee and Orlando, that to have a Do & See listing would be difficult to keep current.

We are east of Kissimee, right where Bronson Memorial (192) crosses FLORIDA TURNPIKE. Almost directly south of the airport.
We plan to look around and inquire. White Cloud may get checked for seafood.
We have three weeks this time, so need several suggestions.

The best seafood in Kissimmee closed years ago. That was covered years ago. Is thiers near Clearwater still doing well? I forget the location.

The only Shells we go to anymore is the original one on S. Dale Mabry in Tampa. We try to match it with plane flights, but arrivals get here too late.

I understand the one in Melbourne also survived. We ate there coming back from Key West on an OLCC check-in day.

Too bad you don't golf as Remington is one of the best values I know. It gets played a lot and was a tad rundown from the Branson and SW FL country clubs I have grown into. My inlaws are not great seafood buffs, but when we brought them all to a 3-bedroom at OLCC for Christmas week, I took my BIL and two nephews to the Kissimme Shells after golf at Remington. They learned to love it really quick and we made two more visits there that week.

We took them all to OLCC twice.

We had 10, total, that week. We don't do Orlando any more.

Kissimme Shells was great. Need more like that. We might look up the one in Tampa if Caroll's mom is up to the ride. She has birthday on Thursday. We must visit a couple times this next 3 weeks.
