Hello Disney's Hollywood Studios...

After years of rumors, and whether the name would include Pixar or ABC... the official announcement....

Just a name change or are they changing the theme ?

You usually see a name change first, then a change in theme but in this case the name change seems to have come after the changes...

The change actually began when they created the road that leads to Tower of Terror... this roadway, ToT and Rocking RollerCoaster are themed toward Hollywood rather than to a movie studio...

In the article they talk about other parade name changes and other slight changes that unifies the new direction.

The park was moving away from the strict theme of a movie studio and the connection to MGM was vague.

Now the park is not just a movie studio but one placed in Hollywood as the "Disney's Hollywood Studios"

Obviously this cuts the ties to MGM... and opens the door for even more use of the Pixar characters and Muppets....

The park is slowly developing two lands... Hollywood and the Studios/Backlot...
