@dmmj18, If you have any questions about Property Donation Group and the services they provide you can ask me. If you investigate timeshare relief and timeshare donation companies on the internet you will learn that $899 is really a great deal to perform this type of task. Most other timeshare relief and timeshare donation companies charge thousands. You may be able to do a free posting on here but there is still a likely chance that no one who see's the listing will want your timeshare. With PDG you are guaranteed to be rid of your timeshare headache in a professional, prompt manner with minimal cost and hassle.

Please think about what you are saying. Lets Say, You have a car and you want to donate it but you have to pay us $900 to take it off your hands. You can not be not thinking clearly if you think that is correct.

          Timeshare Donation

After researching for over a year I donated to Florida Veterans. I was so skeptical but it worked for a very reasonable cost. It all was complete within three weeks once I took the plunge. Not sure how much I will try to deduct on taxes this year but feel like a 1000 pound rock has been lifted our my shoulders.

There are a number of steps you will need to take to ensure the transfer has actually been completed. Contact your resort immediately to discover if they have in fact transferred the ownership out of your name. There were hundreds of individuals who reported in the past that they had believed that transfers were done until they received the next maintenance fee bill!

As usual- rather than dealing with an unknown group calling itself a charity to liquidate an unwanted timeshare- it may be safer to either sell it yourself or sell it through a respected brokerage with no type of upfront fee requirement and then simply donate the cash proceeds to a well known and established charity of your choosing.
So where can I find a RESPECTED BROKERAGE WITH NO UPFRONT FEE?

              THANK YOU!!

If your willing to pay an upfront fee to a brokerage....why not offer it to a fellow TS4M member with that same amount of money? Atleast in 99% of cases they'll transfer the name over...instead of the 15% chance you'd get with a PCC

What are PCC's charging now? $1000-$4000 dollars? Hell i'd take a TS if it had all Exchange/transfer fee's paid AND what amounts to 2-3yr MF's also paid

                    There are several..

My brokerage is one I would obviously recommend but there are still a number of well respected brokers involved with timeshare that never charge any type of upfront fee! To find them, simply ask for recommendations! There are many savvy timesharers in this venue who would happily share their personal recommendations with you.

The thought process for anyone considering liquidation should always be the same:

                    1) First take your time to ensure that you have fully researched and truly cannot use the timeshare. A timeshare should never be bought or sold on impulse! Read all the threads you can about your resort and make sure you cannot get more value from what you own. Using a timeshare is often the only way to get any value from the ownership!

                    2) Understand exactly what you own, and learn what the transfer process for your resort will require in order to change ownership. Get a quote from a few closing agents, and always contact your resort management company to ensure you understand the closing process.

                    http://www.timeshareforums.com/forum...nts-state.html

                    3) Ask your HOA or resort if they have a relinquishment program.

                    4) Try to give away the ownership in the Timeshare Forums freebies section!

                    Freebies - Timeshare Forums

                    5) If not successful, consider using the services of a brokerage liquidation program that does not require any type of advance fee.

                    6) If you decide that you do want to pay someone to take your unwanted ownership (and there are individuals that make an informed decision to do so) work with an established company and insist on using your own independent closing agent. While I am not a fan of the business model- groups like Timeshare Relief and Donate for a Cause have been in business for a long time and may provide a safer transaction than some lesser known fly-by-night outfit....

I have been in touch with this company Florida Veterans, did you successfully donate your timeshare to them recently? Thanks

I understand that it is better to try to give it away yourself. But has anyone heard of Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge?

                            donate timeshare

I looked into the wildlife preserve but did not get a response from them. I donated to florida veterins and had a good experience.

Thanks for sharing.. Make sure you follow up with your resort management company to ensure that the ownership is properly transferred from your name.

This is a good common sense strategy that should always be part of a timeshare owners plan when they are selling, donating, or transferring an ownership through any third party company.

Your resort management team can be a great help to you and in many cases may protect you from some types of timeshare scams! Contact them before you decide to sell or transfer to gather basic information about the transfer procedure and process. You can also ask them for recommendations for either resale brokers or for closing agents familiar with your resort.

When you have found someone willing to take your unwanted timeshare (or in the case of most of the "charities" advertising- have paid them to take it), you want to make sure that they also understand the transfer process and that they actually take the time to contact your resort. Ask questions (such as what is the transfer fee for your resort). If they can't answer them- then you can be forewarned that they are not familiar with your resort. If they answer them correctly- then you can probably feel a little more comfortable.

When you are told that an estoppels or transfer request has been sent to the resort, double check! A simple call can confirm that this has happened. Many of the scams will simply pile one lie onto another in an attempt to stall you so that your window to dispute any credit card charges passes.

Finally, to fully protect yourself consider using a third party escrow agent to hold all your funds or payments until the transfer is completed. If the buyer or closing agent won't agree to this, then sometimes it is better to just step away and look elsewhere..
