  • Wine Diaper?

Well at first I was what the heck is this a joke? But then after reading on it does sound good. It protects the bottle in the suit case when you travel and if it should break it soaks up the bottle so it will not spill onto your cloths that is in the suit case/ I IMO do not think it can soak it all up with out spilling on to the cloths but who knows. Has anyone ever used a wine diaper> I wonder if I wrap my dogs wee wee pad over a bottle and put it in a zip lock if that will work just as good?

Did you see their website? Funny video on their product.

    Winediaper.com: What Is It?

I have a hunch their material is similar to the dog mat. Wrap it in bubble wrap and tape it up and you may have the same thing.

I thought it was an interesting idea. But I've always just made sure the bottles are both tightly packed and well cushioned inside my suitcase.

I keep trying to go on a winewoot buying moratorium, thinking I got a bit of almost everything I want. But every time I get onto my moratorium woot shortly has a nicely priced offering that matches a hole in my collection that I hadn't even thought about. The latest is the viognier they just had up.

I think I've got it all filled now, but I will make an exception if they bring back that Anne Amie Müller-Thurgau.

Yeah, couldn't you just use a jiffy bag with some paper towels stuffed in?

Why don't you do a test? Put an empty 750 ml wine bottle into your jiffy bag or ZipLoc and add paper towels to fill the space. Then remove the bottle, leaving the paper towels inside the bag. Next fill the bottle with water, then pour the water into the bag and see if the towels can absorb all of the liquid.

I'm guessing that the paper towels won't have enough sorptive capacity unless you have a ginormous bag of stuffed paper towels. Which is going to take up a lot of volume in a suitcase.

What the WD has is superabsorbent material, that needs less volume to retain that much liquid.

            Wine Diaper

Actually we think that this is the easiest way to travel with wine.
The Wine Diaper is super small when not in use but can hold up to 1.5 liters of wine.., really!

It can pad and absorb any liquid in case of an accident, because some time the problem is actually pressure or temperature changes.

Take a look at the videos on the youtube/winediaper channel.
