We opened a second bottle last night. It was enjoyable; a simple, slightly dry and crisp white. Which I enjoy.

That's a good question about their "style". If they were expecting a buttery smooth chardonnay style wine, then they are certainly not going to like the Sipariño.

Really? It was dry? Now I have to try it. I'm off to put a bottle in the fridge to chill.

I found it slightly dry. I didn't make specific mental notes, but I'm thinking right now that it was perhaps like a dry riesling. The strongest impression I had was crispness, followed with a bit of fruitiness - no malo fermentation at all that I could detect.

It wasn't at all complex. The first bottle that we had was on a very hot day, and was very chilled. I thought it was an excellent selection for those circumstances.

I find it to be a pretty nice summer sipping wine at a good price.

The Sipariño came back on Cheapskate Wednesday, and I went in for another six bottles. Great deal at $6.99 and free shipping.

Now I'm hoping I can catch it if the Sipranillo Tempranillo comes back. My stock of that is dwindling; I guess it's become our "house red".
