I have to brag and say Huzzah to me.
Every year, our winemaking club holds a competition at the MN renaissance festival. I usually use it as way to get rid of some of my excess or older wines. This year, I brought some of the wine I recently bottled, plus I pulled up some old stuff, really old stuff.
In addition to the red, white and blush wines I brought for the competitions, I also brought extra wines to share after the competition. Some of those wines got mixed up, so my red wine entry didn't get set up right.
All wines go through a double elimination. At the end of the competition, I had won the white wine with a Muscat, and the blush with a very old (over 10 years old) strawberry. The red I had high hope for was switched so did not win.
The King and Queen come by to judge the top three wines. After that judging, my Muscat wine won best of show. I got 2 awards of 2 tickets for a dinner theater, and for the best of show winning, I go an overnight stay at a hotel.
