    VALTOSTAO
    Ribera del Duero
Located between Pedrosa and Roa, at an altitude of 1200 feet, well drained soils and a harsh continental weather with extreme temperature contrasts are considered amongst the best in the appellation and provide excellent growing conditions for the Tinto Fino

The lack of water limits the density of vines significantly. Yields are kept low, with a maximum of 4000 kg/ Ha. Most of the work at the winery is strictly done by gravity. Only a total of 15 000 cases are produced.

Serafin Moya uses an arrangement of American, French and Hungarian Oak casks. The Roble and the Crianza spend a minimum of 6 and 12 months in oak respectively.

Legon Crianza 2006. Ribera del Duero.
Tempranillo 100% from +40 year old vines

Aging: 14 months in French and American Oak casks.

TASTING NOTES; Legon combines polished texture with a rugged structure, delivering well-integrated tannins and plum, coffee and mineral flavors. Spice notes linger on the long finish. Best from 2008 through 2018.

    Bought it.

Also has good comments at Cellar Tracker. Enough to make me bend my upper price limit a bit. I'm about halfway through the case of Taurus, so I've been keeping my eyes open for some more tempranillo.

I'll probably pop for another case of the Pear Valley sometime soon as well.
“Maybe you shouldn't dress like that.”

“This is a blouse and skirt. I don't know what you're talking about.”

    “You shouldn't wear that body.”

I was pretty sure that you were thinking of me, and I appreciate it. If anyone else is in on this, I'll add my standard disclaimer about the importance of giving these wines ample time to breath.

I'm looking forward to seeing how this one does as it opens up, something I wouldn't have done with the Tempranillos without your Taurus posts.

Shipment arrived today; I'll probably give it a couple of weeks to settle down after shipping before opening any bottles.

With summer weather here I'll probably pass on any further WTSO offerings for the next four months unless it's something I really want and I'm willing to let the order sit at WTSO until October.

I was just thinking that it's really hot today and I'm worried about my Tempranillo - not yet arrived.

I'm surprised yours hasn't arrived, since they ship from north Jersey.
