I was so disappointed when I picked up my latest wine order. One, I was disappointed with the bill. I have got to stop drinking the good stuff. And two, I learned that Seghesio winery has been sold to a conglomerate.
Over the years, I have bought many cases of the Seghesio Sonoma Zinfandel. It is a wonderful wine and when I can get it on sale for $19, I buy a case. We went to a Seghesio wine tasting couple weeks back where we tried a few others in their family of wines, and bought a second mixed case of wine.
Part of their news article reads:
US-based Crimson Wine Group, a producer of luxury domestic wine, has acquiried Seghesio Family Vineyards, a produer of estate-grown Zinfandel wines in California.
The acquisition will allow Seghesio Family Vineyards to join the portfolio of luxury domestic brands including Archery Summit, Chamisal Vineyards and Pine Ridge Vineyards.
