"One of the most sought-after wines from Montalcino, Montosoli is consistently a blockbuster red."

91 Rating - Robert Parker / The Wine Advocate!
    90 Score - Wine Spectator!

"The single-vineyard 2003 Brunello di Montalcino Montosoli, from one of the region's top sites, is fresher and more vibrant than the regular bottling, with superior balance and finesse. It shows lovely plumpness, clarity and depth in its black cherries, oak, spices and tobacco...."(R.P.)

Lucky for my wallet, it's too hot to spend this much on shipped wine.

I will not be doing any purchasing at all from WTSO until I can assure that shipment will not occur until October 15. I'm four shipping days away from them, and clear across the heartland of the US. I don't trust that I can receive a shipment in summer without it getting cooked in transit.

With wine.woot, I'm one day of shipping time away, and in summer they ship using refrigerated trucks. (BTW - went in for one one of the Pedrocelli mixed case today - at less then $10/bottle delivered this is a great value for summer wine on the deck and summer grilling with seafood and chicken.)

        ------

And that's even if this were not too rich for my blood - which it is.

The 2005 was $32.99, the 2003 was $59.99 last year. The 1999 Altesino was fabulous.

But I'm with Trog, no WTSO shipments for me til fall, and def not in this price range.

I buy about four to six bottles of wine per year in this price range, which I set aside for times when our family is together for an event such as Thanksgiving. I make the purchase when I find something that is clear to me is a great value and that I'm pretty sure will be enjoyed by all.

For the last several years that has been Torii Mor pinot noir, but that hasn't popped up lately on any of the sale sites I track. So this year I popped for the Cathy Corison Helios merlot and syrah when they appeared at wine.woot. They are resting until November or December.

The last year or so I am limited to very few in this range. As such, I save them for romantic evenings - my family wouldn't appreciate them, and our friends that would... well one bottle would not do the trick

I do like a good Pinot, will check out the one you mention here, thanks.
