For anyone just starting to investigate wine, or even for those who are not just starting but who have some strong likes/dislikes, I recommend The One Minute Wine Master (available on Amazon.com for $10.01) by Jennifer Simonetti-Bryan. There is a one minute quiz at the beginning to assertain what your wine palate is (spring, summer, fall, winter), and the wines you will like depending on your palate. There are only 11 questions, and the results are amazingly accurate. I read reviews about it, and was inclined to scoff--then I took the test, and I scoffed no more. She then lists wines you will enjoy based on your palate, both white and red.
