2006 Bodegas Olarra Rioja Cerro Anon Reserva
This has appeared at WTSO a couple of times for ~$11.50 with free shipping on four. I picked up four the last time is appeared, and they were delivered today. I had previously bought the 2001, and enjoyed it quite a bit.
I thought this was outstanding. I vinturied into a decanter and let it sif for about 30 minutes. Still a bit rough at 30 minutes, but at an hour this was superb. Not a jammy in your face wine, but with a some cherry and berry type fruit notes up front. Good long persistence, and between the oak and the nicely developed tannins there was a lot of structure and body. DW and I knocked this off very quickly. Glad I've got three more bottles, and also regretting that I only have three more bottles.
