  • Looking for good (not over priced) Napa restaurant

We will be in Napa in July, about a two weeks after our 15 year wedding anniversary. Ya, I know, hard to believe anyone would stay with me that long.

We are looking for a good restaurant to celebrate the event, not French Laundry type or prices, but something close where we can have a nice dinner.

I know a few members of this site are foodies and have traveled to the Napa area. Can you offer suggestions?

I thank you and the DW thanks you.

There are lots of wonderful restaurants in the Napa Valley, and no you don't have to pay French Laundry prices. I'm trying to remember the name of the place dh and I went for his birthday a few years back, but I'm drawing a blank. Pretty sure it was in St. Helena. I'll try to remember and come back and post it for you. What you also might want to do is check tripadvisor and Open Table for current reviews of restaurants in the area.

We enjoyed Bistro Don Giovanni, Bistro Jeanty, Mustards, and Tre Vigne. For more casual dining, we like Gotts Roadside, Squeezed Inn. My son loves Bochon Bakery.

I sat on Yelp one morning and found a lot of information.
I have found a couple nice $$$ restaurants that have tasting menus that we can pair the wines to the foods. French Laundry is $$$$ so not going there.

I will also be contacting the resort where we will stay to see if they have suggestions on restaurants and when we need to place the reservation. I have also learned that several of the restaurants are Wed-Sun.

There is also The Bounty Hunter in Napa.

It's a BBQ joint with an awesome wine list.
