    Marathon Monday coming up 9/24

    To our members and friends:
Fall is here and the holidays are quickly approaching. We hope you have all had a great summer. We at winestilsoldout have worked tirelessly over the summer to bring you the best wines available throughout the world at prices you will not believe, and as always, delivered to your door free of charge.
Get your credit cards ready!!! This Marathon Monday is on par with the original event that put us on the map. This one is sure to make your head spin!
We will present over 90 labels during the day with names like Nickel and Nickel, Tardieu Laurent, Sassicaia, Verget, Freemark Abbey, Rubicon, Hewitt, Far Niente, Insignia, Duck Horn, and Jadot, just to name a few.

    How it Works
The marathon will start Monday at 12:00 AM and run for 24 hours. You will get ONE E MAIL ONLY signaling the start of the event. You do not have to wait for the e mail to sign on. Each wine will remain on the site until it is sold out and then be replaced with the next until 11.59PM. Please be aware the wines are very limited in quantity, so please act quickly. (that’s what makes it so much fun, huh?)

    Terms & Conditions
1- Your order is confirmed after your credit card is confirmed. It is possible to get to a page and then not be able to complete the sale because the wine has already sold out.
2- We do not take phone or email orders. We are completely automated.
3- Please be aware there is a very small chance the system over sells by accepting 2 orders simultaneously. In this case we will refund the last order received. If this happens we will notify you immediately and never confirm the transaction so you will not be charged.
4- We CANNOT combine shipments. Our system doesn’t allow it.

All orders will ship no later than Wednesday October 3rd. 2nd day Air is available as always for an additional $2.75 per bottle. 2nd day Air orders will ship no later than Wednesday, September 26th. You can e mail us anytime if you have any questions.
    Cheers

I suspect Marathon Monday will be too rich for my bloodstream.

BTW, Luanne, I just got an e-mail from Western Beverage. Here they're the liquor store that goes with Costco, although they're sort of a separate store. The one by us has wine tastings on Saturdays and they pour inexpensive wines, so you can try them before you plunk down your $3.

Sometimes the wines are horrendous, just repellent, but once in a while they're quite good, and it's nice to try different things. We got a chardonnay in a two-pack (!!!) a while back that was actually very very good, two bottles for $7.

And by the way...my friend around the corner keeps reminding me that three-buck-Chuck WON a blind tasting at some major wine competition. She's very big on Charles Shaw and buys it three cases at a time.

The wine that's up now is appealing to me. It's $7.99.

            Caliterra
            Cabernet Sauvignon
            Reserva 2005

            from Chile.

I would get some if I hadn't just bought two sets of six bottles of other stuff. I'm still looking for a fabulous white.

Just ordered 6 bottles. That, and what I ordered yesterday, should hold me for awhile. I'm still looking for something "wonderful" to send to my sil and bil. And, I got the same email yesterday.

Frank and Glitter will be better able to advise you on the good stuff! I have that double bottle that Frank recommended so highly. It's so beautiful I don't think I can bear to drink it.

I have two of the large bottles, one is the chianti, and I am even more excited about the other, the Ferrari-Carano Sienna 2001 ( 1.5 Liter), which I picked up for only $29.99. I don't really know anyone who'd appreciate them as gifts, so will save them for the holiday dinner(s) here.

Luanne, keep an eye on Marathon Monday. Hopefully Frank will be around to post, I am going to be stuck out at Stonybrook for hours waiting on my Dad's colonoscopy. Not sure if there will be WiFi in the waiting room but I'll bring my laptop just in case. But the wines listed with ratings, combined with the price (particularly on the higher end) should give you a good idea of quality. Honestly, I don't know that much about wines. I just know what I like when I taste it, and there are certain types/regions/wineries that I know I like. And I think it's far more challenging to find a good inexpensive wine, than a good "special" wine...
