Someone please buy that pricey Tuscan so we can move on... Luanne, that would be a "special" bottle

I was going to ask if anyone had bought anything. The couple of offerings I'm seeing seem like they're just not discounted enough compared to the regular market price. I mean, this wine that's up now--they give the original price as $149, but the best web price is $113 and Tanzer gives the price as $115 in his review...so $99 does not seem like a whoppin' big deal.

The Tuscan for $210 was a bargain

Oh please. It was a merlot. I'm sure my $7.99 bottles are JUST as good.

I'd completely forgotten! The first one I saw was already sold old. Hopefully I'll remember to keep checking back.

Acckk! Just checked. A little rich for my blood right now.

              Luanne,

I don't know just how "special" you wanted to get, but that is a lovely Montrachet up now if you want a white.

eta: but the price is higher than listed by the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board. I didn't know PA was a good place to buy wine at a discount

See? I told you the Poconos were good for something.

Or I could just pick some up when I'm in PA in October and bring it home.

Actually, I was looking for something "nice", but not terribly pricey. I'd like to send 6 bottles to sil and bil.

                    Best description of the day:

                    By Wine & Spirits

                    88 Silvio Nardi

Silvio Nardi 2001 Brunello di Montalcino

Plush and superripe, this is easy to drink. It feels softened by new French oak, the purple fruit touched by raisining in the grapes. A wine to decant for boar ragù.

I will be sure to lay some in for my next spaghetti-and-boar-ragu night.

Don't, Frank. It doesn't really go well with anything but boar ragu, and if you're like me, you probably used your last package of boar out of the freezer over Labor Day weekend.

Now this one caused my hair to stand up. I want it and would find room for it in my wine cellar but I don't feel the deal is good enough to buy. If this was $50 I would have bought 2, It is a 1999 and that is what your paying for. No idea if this wine is still good.
