  • today's wine looks good

    I'm surprised it's still there this late, but I ordered some of this. I love the Brunellos -- they usually start at $35 on the site and go up from there, so for $14.99 it's worth a try:

    Casanova di Neri Rosso di Montalcino 2003
    FREE SHIPPING on 3 or more!! / 750ml

    6

    $14.99

    $ 89.94

    The description left me cold. It sounded sort of vaguely resinous. But Frank liked the looks of it, too, so if it appealed to both of you, I'd bet it's good.

      I posted this in the other wine thread. I have bought this 3 or 4 times with different years. Wine.woot has a nice desert wine up this week.

        Sorry, I didn't see the other post. I should probably buy more, but I went a little ways off the reservation on Marathon Monday...

          Excellent Chardonnay today

          This is among my favorite Chardonnays when we are enjoying fine white, it is excellent, and a great bargain at $25.99:

          Today we are offering Ferrari-Carano Reserve Chardonnay 2003 originally priced at $46.99 and available now for only $25.99. Ground shipping is free with your purchase of two (2) or more.

            The name is well known , I have not had this wine but have had others that they make. I am more of a red drinker, I will go through 60 bottles of red before opening a white. I still have not had my Tocai Frulio yet.

              The Tocai was good. Not my usual taste, but good. My cousins enjoyed it when they were here. Luanne was looking for a good white as a gift a while back, this would fit the bill, a really luscious Chardonnay, on the oakey side.

                But it also said "unbearably delicious..." And we had a 2003 Rosso last night that was very impressive. Really they are a great value, they come from the same region as the Brunellos (Montalcino). And though it was only $15, the one we had last night (Reineri) drank like a much more expensive wine.

                But now they have an amazing white, a Chateauneuf de Pape, and it is expensive ($74.99), and they rarely put up such fine whites, and they really need to stop putting up such spendy wines at big discounts, bc they are still expensive even after the 50% off. I am not buying it, but it is so hard to resist.
