$12.99 for a 2001 California Cab is a good deal. The tasting notes are from 2004, it should be better now I would think, though they can be volatile. I am trying to hold out for some whites, but may buy this.

It looks like a good deal but it was rated only an 87. Discount is nice at 57% off. I wish we could buy smaller amounts of wine or at least hold shipping untill we buy a case so we then get free shipping. We could then get 2 bottles of everything.

I think a lot of the higher ratings in this price range are based on cellaring potential. I generally don't save wines, though I have bought a few this year that I've put aside.

alright, they got me with the $9.99 Bordeaux. No more reds for me. I think.

Great prices! Too bad they don't ship to Canada. Then again if they did the duties and taxes would probably triple the prices and I would likely blow the budget. In fact at these prices, and my low self-control, I'd probably blow the budget if I lived in the US!

Maybe I should move to Canada, I'd save a fortune.

I'm new here but I always come by to read when there is a WTSO marathon because, well, it's one of the only places around where people actually discuss it in realtime. Was also in for four of the Silver Spur. And since Joe is here...RSS feeds/archives! And keep up the great customer service.

I finally dipped in with the one that's up now...........$11.99/bottle

                          Bodega Chakana Cabernet Sauvignon 2005
                          By Wine Enthusiast
                          2005 Chakana Cabernet Sauvignon,Mendoza
                          “A Best Buy”
                          Rating: 90
                          Producer: Chakana
                          Vintage: 2005
                          Varietal: Cabernet sauvignon
                          Appellation: Mendoza
Few Argentinean wineries are doing everyday red wines better than Chakana. A case in point is this excellent, superbly balanced, easy-drinking Cab. The nose is meaty, earthy and magnetic, while the palate is ripe, harmonious and full of cassis and raspberry. It’s fruity more than complex, with stature and style. — M.S. Hey, I do have a question for Joe. Why do some wines have a rating and other don't?
