  • Wines Til Sold Out--Cheapskate Wednesday on December 3

I haven't bought wine from Wines Til Sold Out for ages because everything's been too expensive for me. (As you know, $10 is my upper limit for a bottle of wine. )

However, the holidays are coming up, and I like to bring something not too humiliating as a hostess gift when we visit friends, so I just ordered the Chianti Classico they have up right now for $9.99. Big spender!

When you go to the site, there's a note that the next Cheapskate Wednesday will be on December 3. Perfecto! See you there, my fellow cheapskates!

I saw that one. It was tempting.

Okay, I went and ordered 4 bottles. Realized it was one I'd bought before and was pretty good.

I have never bought from them. Are the prices and descriptions pretty resonable for the wine?

Well, maybe not compared to making it yourself but I have been happy with almost everything I've ordered from there and with the free shipping and low prices, it's hard to beat them. I just picked up the New Zealand Pinot Noir for $9.99 -

Yes, they are. I would say they exaggerate a lllllleeeeetle bit on the "best prices on the web" comparables.

I think the best deals there, balancing price with quality, are the slightly-more-expensive-than-rock-bottom wines, like in the $9.99 to about $15.99 range with a 40 percent or more discount (calculated by them, of course). And the free shipping is fantastic and really adds to the whole package!

Up right now--I've ordered the Esser Vineyards cabernet sauvignon from them before. We thought it was very good. I just got four more bottles for $8 each.
