Weather in Thailand.

Hello I was just wondering how is the weather in Bangkok in August? I'm set to go there in 2 or 3 weeks but I'm a little reluctant because I know it is the rainy season there, but some people have told me that at most, it rains there for an hour and stops.

It is very difficult to gauge from year to year what the weather will do but you can expect some flooding in August after downpours. It seems the BIG 2011 flood didn't reach Bangkok until November. These links provide a bit more information:
