If anyone is thinking of going to Kathmandu or anywhere else in Nepal, please get in touch and I will try to help out with any questions. It is an amazing place, the city of Kathmandu is like a living museum,it is worth the trip just to be there and see the tips of the Himalayas poking through the clouds in the distance from your hotel balcony....a truly magical sight!
The flight from Kathmandu airport over the high peaks to view Everest is an amazing, stunning experience.
I was also priveledged to see the Living Goddess, the Kumari, mentioned in a previous post.
To watch the cremations at sunset on the funeral ghats beside the river is a moving experience, somewhat macabre to western culture, but totally fascinating!
A drive through the foothills of the Himalayas from Kathmandu to the southern lowlands is a mind-boggling rollercoaster of a ride, even with your own chauffer-driven transport.
It may sound too exotic and adventurous to some, but it is not and it is all within the capabilities of most travellers.
Life may not be the party we hoped it would be, but while we are here we might as well dance......
