  • How to sell an Accor Platinum membership

    Hi,

I am new to the forum and would like some advice from members, I have an Accor Platinum membership with 10,000 pts which I want to sell.

Also, I have an Interval membership as well which has 10,000 points in it as well - as we deposit the unused Accor points into this membership to prevent expiry and extend the points for another 2 years.

The current price of this membership is $29,000 - what would a reasonable resale be and does anybody have a broker that they recommend or a method that they have used to onsell their membership?

Plus, can the interval membership be transferred as well?

I have looked at some of the other threads on this site and the sites generally look like listing sites only i.e. where I pay to list my membership. I have written to a couple asking how they promote their site and what is the average time it takes to sell a membership - but no response!

From what I have read Redseason offer only about 20% of the purchase price?

Has anybody sold a membership with speed and success and how and what did you do?

    Super grateful for any advice.

    Cheers,

    Susan

PS Plus of course, if anybody is looking to buy an Accor Platinum membership - send me a message.

    Hi Susan

I also own an Accor Platinum membership and follow the resale prices periodically. I've watched Redseason for a while and they seem like a reputable company to deal with, I haven't heard anything negative about them aside from grumbles about the low purchase price they offer.

Memberships sell quickly on eBay if the starting price is extremely low, but I haven't seen them go for more than the Redseason eBay listings.

I purchased my membership resale some years back and the seller and I had to work out a sales process that we both felt OK with. I recall that the seller gave me access to their online Accor account and we had 3 party emails between me, AVC and the seller. At that time, paypal guarantees did not cover 'non-physical' transactions and AVC memberships were classed as non-physical, the rules may have changed now.

Thanks Carol, I really appreciate your input. I have sent off a request for a quote from Redseason - but no reply as yet.
