We are looking at going to Niagara Falls this August and would like recommendations on where to stay. We will probably be in the area 4 nights and would like to spend 2 of those nights will a falls view room and the other two in the general area. We will be coming from our daughter's place near Flint Michigan.

I have been to Niagara Falls 3 times, twice in the summer and once in the winter.

Frank is right about the summer being peak time. The problem with Priceline is you won't have a choice of a good view room.

I don't know your price range so I listed these that should all have pretty good views and are nice places.

      1. Marriott Niagara Falls Hotel Fallsview & Spa | Canadian Fallsview
      2. Niagara Falls Hotels - Niagara Falls Fallsview Hilton Hotel - Niagara Falls, Canada
      3. Embassy Suites Niagara Falls Official Website - A Niagara Falls Hotel in Niagara Falls Ontario Canada
      4. Niagara Falls Hotels, Sheraton on the Falls Hotel, Niagara Falls Ontario Canada

You probably want to stay on the Canadian side even though it is considerably more expensive. That is because most of the attractions are on the Canadian side. It can be a pain going through customs and immigration every day. We did the Maid of the Mist boat tour which is fabulous. You can take it from either side. We took it from the US side as we were on a tour. The US side is cheaper which is probably why the tour used it as we did stay on the Canadian side. We also ate some of our meals on the New York side.

If you want the view of the falls The hotel at the faasview casino in canada is the best. The U.S. side has most of the falls so canada gets the best view.

            Hotel in Minolta Tower

Several years ago we stayed in a hotel that was on the top of the Minolta Tower. It appears to now be called the Tower Hotel - think it used to be a Ramada. (Now the Ramada appears to be in another tall building.) But, talk about views. The rooms have floor to ceiling windows and you were literally on the top floors of the tower with commanding views of the falls - even the walls were curved since you are in a rounded tower. There was also a very nice restaurant on top of the tower as well. I think the hotel was kind of tough to get into, as they didn't have a whole lot of rooms - but we loved it - and I doubt you can beat the view - well worth the price tag. We have stayed several other places, but none with this type of view.
