Hotel Parador in Costa Rica

Hello! I am brand new to this forum, but so far it's been very helpful.

We are planning a week in Costa Rica in July 2011. Has anyone stayed at Hotel Parador? What type of room do you generally get with an exchange from II?

Also, any helpful hints about CR would be great! I have heard that renting a car is very expensive... also should we book "excursions" thru the hotel or on our own? We have a long time to plan, but that is why I am starting early!!

Hotel Parador was very relaxing, luxiourious and the staff could not have been nicer!
Nice hotel and service. Having breakfast with monkeys was so cool. Pool very nice and food good. One BIG thing. Watch out for making calls to the US from the room.
