  • Caribbean-- VI recommendations

Please excuse my ignorance! Amazingly I have never been to the Caribbean-- We are thinking of a fall vacation and I thought maybe the Virgin Islands would be nice as I think (***think***) we could possibily island hop???

I am using weeks vacation-- I want relaxing but I also love history so I can become a tourist at the drop of a hat! Would love to be on the beach and not need a rental car but I realize with Timeshares a rental car is usually a must. Anyone have a recommendation?

I saw a great review for Weston in St. John... but that must be points as I can not see it with my weeks.

There are two VIs, the USVI and BVI. Both are very near each other.

The Westin St. John is wonderful. All of St. John is wonderful.

Unless you luck out (I did once) searching for it, it's an near impossible trade. You'll need an excellent trader. I liked it so much, I bought there.

There are other good places to stay on St. John like the Sunset Ridge Villas. They're on St John, but not as "fancy". They have a great view I'm told, but have never stayed there. Read the reviews on both places The Sunset Ridge villas show up from time to time, but I haven't seen them as of late. There are hotels, too and the Maho Camps (ecological-"soft adventures")

You can find an exchange for Tortola- BVI more often than the WSJ - USVI.

What are you searching with ?

Thru II, on St Thomas you have the luxury Marriott Frenchmen's Cove or the standard but very well located Wyndham St Thomas at Bluebeards BeachClub.
RCI has Wyndham St Thomas at the Elysian which is very nice - but located further from town down near Red Hook - where u take the ferry to St John. The also have the other Bluebeard's Castle which is not located on the beach but above town overlooking the harbor.

As Beags said, Westin St John while beautiful is a very difficult trade thru II if you have a Starwood TS - there is a priority which most people do not get past.

You can take a high speed ferry or a short flight to St Croix and spend time there as well. RCI has several TS there.

I am trying to use up my RCI weeks that expire in November--(Weston FL)-- I am alittle worried about being up on a hill-- hubby needs flat walking to beach.

I thought someone had told me about islands that had sea taxi's that you could visit for the day-- not looking to fly-- just day trips
